North Cyprus Laws on the smoking cannabis

Hi Guys



I live in the South side of the island. I am taking a trip to see the North as I hear am on the wrong side of the island!



Was hoping some members could educate me on the following subject. I come from a country which has very liberal views when it comes to smoking hash and weed, I know this sometime offends people but being the vaguely sensible person I am, I would like to find out what the views of the TRNC is to smoking pot.



In the south its not tolerated at all. Is it the same in the North? Do people smoke the odd joint? I have heard rumors that its not demonized as it is in the south however these are just rumors.



Cyprus is a stunning place and the views are amazing when enhanced with a pocket rocket! So i hear.

The laws here is more against it then any other country. If you take a look in the turkish papers they are always catching the Nigerians who are supposidly studying here with these type of substances on them and either deporting them, or fining them heavely depending the amount they have upon themselves. Just try it and see for your self!!!!!!

And they now have trained sniffer dogs at Ercan, so the chances of getting away with it via Ercan are slim.

many are also smoking the new legal weed,i think they call it bonsia,as they use it to feed bonsia plants or some thing like that,many are also growing there own weed,where i do not know,but they are.

Be very very careful, there is a zero tolerance with the Police and there are no class A or B drugs, its drugs and your nicked, there are 4 highly successful sniffer dogs here now I have seen them at Ercan, the ferry port in Girne and the walkover border at the end of ledra street.

You may get away with bringing something over,getting stoned and wandering the island viewing it in your 'perfect light' then get back home a free man BUT

the consequences of getting caught here are truly horrendous
