I was driving home the other day and it was just after school chucking out time. A bunch of lads were walking in the road non chalantly. I needed to turn off so patiently waited for them to stroll along (totally oblivious to me) a straggler who had seen me stopped and waited for me to go, because I didn't move within about a second he was very abusive towards me. I was very tempted to stop the car, get out, get the dog out of the back and give him a good slap. I didn't obviously, I just gave him a great big smile instead which probably pi**ed him off even more

Never come accross kids acting this way in the TRNC in all the years I have lived here - in the UK it's hard to find kids that don't act like this nowadays! You've obvioulsy done well to find them here, but I don't think your experience is the norm IMHO... G

Wish I`d never asked. I was trying to ascertain whether he was British or Turkish Cypriot. I would be surprised if you said Turkish Cypriot.

i'm with Whistler - unlikely he's from TRNC if he has an American accent (maybe TRNC blood and brought up there). And in the USA as much as the UK disrespect from kids is all to common! JMHO G

Msg 4 what's the relevance of which school he was attending, surely it's his guardians who should instill good manners in the first place.

StGeorge1. If you have lived in NC for years how do you know how UK kids behave. I don't have far to look to see kids who don't act like that, my four grandchildren for instance. No problems in our Village with children, maybe a few teenagers hanging around at night but no reported robberies, muggings, taking cars etc., maybe we are just very lucky.

Msg 10 Woodspeckie, I have to agree with you on your comments.Since returning to the UK I havent come across all the crap that is spouted on here by so called ex-pats.Muggings,Roberies,unruly kids, crap NHS etc etc.No wonder they left the UK in search of somewhere else if they were living in areas where these sort of things were happening. It just seems that when anything untoward is said about the TRNC the disgruntled Brit comes out with yes but its worse in the UK.Does the same critics complain about the winter fuel allowance, nipping back for free treatment on the NHS etc etc.Have a bit more respect and stop pulling down your Country of Birth. You never see on here a TC pulling down his/her Country. St George when back in the UK try a different area to where you used to live you may see that not all of the British Youth are the delinquents you suggest they are. BB

Msg 10 Woodspeckie and barnaclebill msg 12 - I agree with you both. I work with approximately 600 pupils on a daily basis and the majority are really well behaved and respectful.

Laptamike you say out off all the group of young people he was the only one who was abusive to you, so why come on this forum under the title Moody teenagers (plural). I have found most of the young people here to be very respectful, so please don't blame the majority of people for what you feel one young person did to you. Regards James

I think the young TC's here are very polite and courteous - at least those that I have seen. In the UK, depending where you live, most youngsters are also very polite and courteous.

I don't know why I bother. All posters on c44 these days just want to rip other peoples threads to shreds. INSTEAD OF TURNING THE THREAD INTO A VENDETTA AGAINST ME GET A LIFE OR POST SOMETHING USEFUL OR INTERESTING.

I fail to see how this thread could be deemed "useful", or indeed - "interesting". Why you were tempted to get out the car and get your dog out the back and...........is also beyond me - the point of getting your dog out the car? Hell of an over-reaction (even though it remained just a thought) to ONE teenager being - you say - "very abusive towards me" - but you don't clarify how he was abusive.......

Quarmby, please let me know how old you think I am. It was more of an observation. If people can't post simple things like that on here anymore then the board she be closed down. The rest of you bag of sh*t (few exceptions) I was only trying to inform you of something that happened in a very slightly amusing way. I'll say one thing about North Cyprus, the majority of the locals are a lot more friendly and helpful than the majority of the people on this board. This thread should now be closed, it is serving no purpose anymore.

fukace, 38 is correct. Just wiser than my peers. I was always the one they came to at school when they had a problem. Even the teachers recognised my maturity, they sent me to Manchester town hall for a political debate and then sent me to the House Of Commons because of my debating skills and my ability to sit on the fence even though I am very right wing. Like your name btw lol ;-)

Jeannie, I don't have to explain myself to you. You lost my respect several weeks ago. All I will say is that I have an IQ in the top 0.1% of the worlds population so I am pretty sure I am smarter than you.

Mike - I wasn't aware that I had asked you for an explanation. Oh, and I'm quite sure you're "smarter" than me; after all, you are, by all accounts, "smarter" than just about everyone (and I mean that literally). You are also, by the sounds of it, unbelievably pompous.
