A survey of 300,000 18-40 year olad males was carried out throughout Europe and Cyprus to determine the type of tatics used in attracting a member of the opposite sex or same sex as the case may be.

The study was then divided into to groups.

Group1 Europeans

Group2 Turkish Cypriots



Group1 found that

Owning own home 33%

Expensive car 14%

Good quality clothes 12%

A secure job 18%

Good quality Aftershave 10%

Wealth 12%



was the best way to attract a member of the opposite/same sex



Group2 found that

Living with Mummy & Daddy 10%

Driving with fog lights on 19%

Driving with a loud exhaust 19%

Driving while playing load music 19%

Bad body odour 33%



was the best way to attract a member of the opposite/same sex

Why on earth do you live in Northern Cyprus? You need to go to the Greek side where you'll obviously feel more comfortable and happy. You clearly do not like the Turkish Cypriots with your pathetic survey and negative generalisations. You are rude.

What a complete load of rubbish vertical smile. I have been to many places in the world but the Turkish Cypriots must be one of the friendliest people I have ever met. Sorry if you found some of the postings offensive Donna, I can assure you that this is atypical of most peoples views with regards to the TC's. Indeed a quick view of the postings shows that most people want to settle in the TRNC because of the warmth and relaxed, friendly atmosphere encountered.

It's so encouraging to see positive comments re TRNC and TCs. Considering the country is isolated and boycotted by the world excepting Turkey, it's not doing so badly. I haven't encountered any undfriendliness in Northern Cyprus and I know that the TCs like the English very much.



Certain organisations who have had a negative experience re developers seem to be attacking the country and its people rather than focusing on the perpetrators and unfortunately these people are playing into the hands of the Greek Cypriot propagandists. The Greek Cypriots get whatever they want and are able to dictate to the EU what they are allowed to do/not do with Northern Cyprus. It's incredible the GC have so much power. Associations should be set up by ex-pats to help end the isolation/boycotting of Northern Cyprus rather than make things worse for the country.

Whether the survey is fact or not and I suspect it is fabricated, it is still rude and derogatory towards Turkish Cypriots. I couldn't ignore it as that would be supporting it by saying nothing. And I'll bet you verticalsmile is Greek Cypriot and if it isn't, it's a sympathiser of GCs and a propagandist.
