what is the postal service like to and from the UK?



I ask because we had to wait for someone to fly to England to be able to post us our contracts.



Is the post unreliable due to the convoluted way (which I believe is through Turkey) to get to its destination?

how long would it take -say a card (birthday) to get to the UK and vice versa.

From the TRNC to the UK only takes say a week but from the UK to the TRNC is quite unreliable.

I would never send anything important thru' TRNC mail.



Delivery in TRNC is very unreliable. We have apartment on edge of Kyrenia and birthday cards do arrive from UK after about 10 days. But neighbours have had parcels sent which never arrived. Also I believe if you live out of town deliveries are non existent, some people have mail box at Post Office and collect mail.

can anybody tell me, how easy is it to obtain a mail box at the P.O,AND WHAT IS THE COST. We also are in apartment on the outskirts of town . Also where exactly is the P.O. thanks for any help.
