Comeand enjoy at evenig with the Island's own "Weakest Link" star Marion Stuart at she gives an insight into her life and particularly her involvment with the TV series "No Place Like Home"

Alex Main has persuaded Marion Stuart to talk about the reality of the programme made 3 years ago featuring folk here and U.K as to whether she and Alan were going home or staying. the end result may be interesting but the way the programme was made and the truth behind what you see is far more interesting.

If you want to book for the talk with 3 course meal for only 25tl then phone Alex on 0533 845 8278

If anyone is coming and they have any questions they want answered - why not ask me know and I can think about it. I will be talking mainly on the programme Alan and I made (seemingly for ever ago) and will try to share the reality of it all. 60 hours of filming condensed into 45 minutes means much got missed out and even misrepresented. I will try to share some of the background, and hopefully make it interesting - my time on the stage at Covent Garden was a farce, as was the filming in the globe Theatre and the roykl Albert Hall - but fun.

so what do you want to know - assuming Alex will manage to get enough people interested in listening to me.

yes of course it was aired, but AGES ago on ITV in U.K. It was a whole series called 'No Place like Home' and featured about 30 different ex pats in various countries . the film, ing was in the countries they were living and then a trip back toU.K, and at the end the couples/families were presented with two flags and asked to choose one. was going to have an evening to show the film too raise money for charity and that never happened, but I wouldn't inflict the whole programme on people anyway. But there were some interesting moments in the filming, and interestingly enough part of it was filmed at Five Fingers restaurant will try to show that bit, at least.

Oh why, Hawkeye. Reminds me of the song 'goodbye, it's been good to know yer'. I know we met briefly, but are you another that has sought the comfort of 'home'? I guess you had good reasons, as does everyone, but sorry we won't meet again, unless youcome back for a holiday?

At least I have had an e mail to say that my two best fans are coming - so I know I have an audience of two, plus one or two others, but as I say, the best part of the evening is the food. Alex makes a great effort.

Oh Alex, don't go saying that or people will be disappointed. No dirt - just comments! Of course I am happy to answer questions if people want to find dirt, - maybe i should talk about my spell in south Cyprus when I had a boyfriend called Costas and was nick named Shirley Valentine by my Franciscan Friar friend 'Brian'; or the time I was bombed out of my flat in Makarios avenue ; or the time I lived in a Nunnery in Italy which I called la Mia priggione (My Prison as opposed to 'My Camp'),; or even years ago when I was known as The countess of Cudham which people came to believe! - but I thought I was talking about the TV programme we made. But as I say, am happy to answer questions. so how 'cheap; do yu want me to be for this 'cheap ' evening of great grub. as I come free, it is better than cheap - but dirt is doubtful.

Of course! And I am sure he would be happy to answer any questions, but as you may or may or may not know, he is rather deaf and is not a public speaker, but when he gets going he says some great stuff of value. Maybe you would like to learn our 'love story'? By the way the Costas and Italian episodes were before I met up with Alan. !Would hate anyone to think i was adulterous!

Sorry Marion, just a figure of speech. I meant by dish the dirt, to give the real background to how this type of programme is made and if any "liberties" are taken the way it is presented. No offense meant, mind with such an interesting past we might have a series!! (joke).

Aah Marion, I am so sorry won't be able to make it, too short notice and as you know I have to be up very early on Sunday, but I am sure it will be a great night, you are a great person with some very interesting stories to tell, so I am sure everyone will be well entertained for the evening. Hope you have some press coverage(???). Good luck and enjoy xx

I knew what you meant really, Alex, but had to take a nibble at it. As to Barbie B - i more than understand. As to Press Coverage, who the heck could I ask!

Finally taking a look at the DVD and flipping heck, it is not as |I remembered it. I am sure I have got a doctored version. Not sure I like myself on telly at all, and it is no wonder that I didn't get 'discovered'. Does anyone out there know how to take stills! Particularly want to freeze parts that say'I could be the oldest punk on the block' at Camden market! And my rendering of a Wagnerian war cry on Covent Garden stage is absolutely b.a. and my singing teacher would turn in his grave. But there are other interesting bits. If you really wanted to know Babs, I coiuld tell you - save you a boring night oiut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. It's tonight! some people have asked whether we should cancel in view of the black news of yesterday. I hope that people will think we are being offensive by holding the evening. It is perhaps appropriate that the 5 fingers is a venue much frequented by Denktash, and he of cours,e opened the first Flower Show there a few years back. But we will be showing our respect in some way or other - that is up to Alex. One person was a little worried that following on Korea we might get clapped in jail if we did not show enough respect for a deceased leader. Thank heavens this is Cyprus.

You are SOOO right, Scoty. trying to do too much with a keyboard playing up. I meant 'NOT' being offensive.

thank you for pointing out the difference a word can make. Silly me

Thanks to all who came to share some time with Alan and I as we shared about the documentary we made. Thanks for the warm reception you gave us, and for making us realise that we are both in the right place (for now!),and that we are among kind friends, and thanks to Alex for making us all welcome with warmth and great grub.

Next week is ~Stephen Day - someone who got further in politics than I did. A great raconteur. think I must book my placve for that, so might see some of the same friends again.

Missed you too. Plans for the future? Well, I am still here! The original decision was not quite what the reality of life is. As I say - I enjoyed it (she says selfishly) and others say they did, so at least by still being here I was able to bring a tad of laughter into some lives and Alex fed them well.
