After a few years of suffering from an itchy nose (no cold symptoms) gruff voice and feeling generally under par, after visiting various quacks, consultants all who have come up with different medication of which none works, I have worked out I am allergic to plug in air freshners..........I hadnt bought any for a few months and my symptoms had reduced if not disappeared, but after putting two new ones in the house my symptoms came back with a vengance.............so maybe there are alot of people out there who dont realize these can be a major problem........

That's very good advice and I'm glad to hear your symptoms have improved. My late mum had something similar, she became susceptible to perfumes which made life difficult we all had to be aware not to put any perfumes/aftershaves on when we went to visit. She couldn't even use perfumed soap.

My son is also allergic to these air fresheners but at least he is aware of it, unlike you were until now.
