Hi, Would love to learn Turkish but I'm only over there 3 to 5 weeks max. I'm based in Catalkoy. But if anyone knows of Turkish lessons over here (Manchester area) that would be great. A couple of my friends are learning from a Turkish Cypriot student whilst in the UK. Chris

Hi Chris, If you're interested in learning Turkish while you're here I'd be only too pleased to help. That said there's not an awful lot that can be done in 3-5 weeks, especially as the key to learning a language is repetitive use of learned vocab. But a foundation could be laid for subsequent lessons. Learning the basic rules is more important with Turkish than most other languages because of its rather rigid structure. As for learning whilst in England;- no I don't know of anyone but through the internet I'm sure you could find someone. There is a Turkish community there plus a lot of students from Turkey and Cyprus from whom you could probably get a good deal. Robert

Try BYKI on the internet and download the free Turkish version. Its like flash cards for grown ups and you can also hear the words said. Its the basics for free and the repetative use is good to get you started. If you want to get more then you have to pay but there is plenty of free content. Sheila
