Recently revealed in Londra Gazzette ,

Greek Judge Vassilios Skouris currently President of ECJ and who signed Orams verdict received an award in 2006 from the Greek Cypriot Government ' Order of the Makarios III ' because of his strong feelings and support of Greek Cypriot people, most probably a very honorable man, but obviously leads to questions of impartiality.

Did I also read that Greek Judge Vassilios Skouris wife is greek Cypriot?

Adding to the biased court situation that had previously happened in the RoC

He did not show much ability as a judge he should have excused himself from all deliberations

As his situation was too close for him to be viewed as impartial

Such actions bring justice into question he is probably as honourable as members of the British parliament have shown themselves to be on their expenses

Even if the ECJ judgement was a forgone conclusion as it was on EU law and not on the Orams

Agree with you wanderer, better to stand aside than risk criticism and unfounded slur.

Compare the action of this "honourable Greek Judge" with the actions of the UK judge at court of Appeal. The UK judge stated that his parents had a house in north Cyprus and it was sold off after their death. He asked the sides if this fact would bother them? Presumably he intended to withdraw from the case if either side showed their displeasure. So the UK judges are not sufficiently European yet!!

I understand that Cherie Blair is the Orams legal representative. How come she did not put an objection into the court regarding the judge in this case.
