Donkey Day at Sunday Markets at Buyukkonuk on 12 February 2012

To celebrate the new role of the Cyprus donkey in eco-tourism.
Come and support village tourism in Buyukkonuk, at the Sunday Market near Delcraft Shop, open between 11am -4 pm.
This special day will have Famagusta Folklore Group dancing at 12:30, an auction/sale of 'Velvet' a 5 year old tame female donkey at 14:30, Prize Draw at 15:00 where local village produce can be won for a small donation (a dozen eggs, olive oil or even a pair of baby rabbits).
All day there will be donkey rides for 5 TL/child and a photography exhibition of old Cyprus pictures related to donkeys and their work. A Vet and a farrier will be there to answer questions about donkey care.
There will be lots of stalls selling traditional food, sweets, breads, crafts and produce items. Kebab and hot cooked pastries will be available for sale, as well as cups of coffee and tea. Bring your valentine!
