Lets see, SaraP.

Sitting in front of a computer screen arguing on the internet about where to buy the best kebab.

Sitting in front of the TV watching BBC Prime.

Sitting by the pool sipping another drink and its only 10 o'clock in the morning.

Sitting in the harbour trying to look relaxed like you should be.

Sitting in the villa wondering if you could be repossessed by the GCs.

Sitting in the bank trying to see if you can get your money out to get a better rate.

Sitting in the queue at Metehan worrying if they will search your car.

Sitting in the pub listening to dinosaur Thatcherites moan about the state of the UK economy some 2000 miles away.

Sitting on the top of Mount St Hilarion wondering if you should throw yourself off.

Sitting by the Skype phone waiting for a call from the family you bitterly miss in the UK who have forgotten all about you.

Yep, we do a lot of sitting, SaraP.

Have a nice day.

Some of us have to sit inside, Yvonne, because the sunshine is too hot.

More sitting.

now I'm sooo jealous! Beats sitting in front of a computer all day. Roll on my early retirement! & here's my 'to do' list when that time comes:

Wake up when the sun hits my bedroom

Saunter to the kitchen, grab coffee and consume on balcony as sun beats down

Throw on a bikini and throw myself into the pool

Saunter on the beach, contemplating my tasks for the rest of the day

Meet friends for lunch (vine-leaves, yummy!) in Kyrenia

A golf lesson... maybe

Set up roof garden fro bbq

More vine leaves, friends, food and drinks

Hit the pillow and contemplate tomorrow...!

Note to self: If sun is too hot, do the same but have bbq indoors!

I'm a bit worried about the vine leaves, Yvonne.

BBQ's indoors also, could be a smoke detector issue there.

I can see a 10 o'clock drinks by the pool issue looming as well.

Next stop, BBC Prime and moaning about kebabs on the internet.

Lem,

Now I'm worried. But what the hell! Rules were made to be broken! I reckon an indoor bbq wud be a fab idea. Smoke out the cockroaches etc. Purely necessary of course.

Now what's with this 10pm pool bar issue. Clearly I need to be on the resident's committee of my resort!!! lol

Lilli, my little pirannha fish. I meant no harm.

I just draw on people's experiences and send them out. They are not mine.

I agree with Yvonne, she has the dream and I share it. In fact, I've experienced it, well maybe not the vine leaves. Yuk!

I love it there, my blood pressure drops, I relax, I love 40 degrees midday, the chilled lifestyle, the power cuts.

I'm a cunning wind up merchant, in my despair, I hold up a mirror to the rest of you, watch you all look at it in horror screaming,

"Oh my gawd, that's me!"

and then retreat. Well there you have it.

That's the reply I was looking for. Have not laughed so much in ages. Certainly everyday life here! Think everyone should have a kebab fight..lol might solve the differences between opinions and maybe having looked at the word opinions closely their could be a few onions involved too...lol!

You are all very welcome to my company, ladies.

See you both soon in Alsancak.

Oh by the way, here is a mobile photo of my little grandson, Kaymen (sorry about the quality) he's the funniest and happiest little chap I've met.

He's now 15 months old, he was born prematurely at 26 weeks, he was in NICU for 3 months, we almost lost him. But he wanted to live.

Lem, I'm so happy for you. I haven't looked at the pic yet, but I became an Aunt/Godmother to my little nephew Conor over a year ago. I adore him! I will check out the links. Be well, my friend

Sara P Didie,

In the UK I would go train spotting with my old friend Jeremey. I have such fond memories of us noteing all the train numbers down, we would bet each other jelly babies or jaffa cakes wether the trains would be on time. Sadly Jeremey had suicidal tendancies and decided to impail himself on the front of the 3.30 to paddington, which was fifteen minutes late as usual. Police and Forensics kindly allowed me to keep his anorack for sentemental reasons, although I dont think they realised it still had part of his arm in it. Anyway at that point I decided to make a drastic change to my life. I came to Northern Cyprus to look at properties. When told the estate agent what my hobby was he imformed me the TRNC has one of the finest railway networks in the world. The moral of the story is never believe what an estate agent tells you.
