guys sorry ,but i just have to say there are a few posts on at the moment winding you guys up, ie mostly about greeks taking your properties or the turkish selling you too the highest bidder, well if that was to ever happen it won,t be in our life time, believe me . the talks ,if you call it that failed months ago the day christofas went on his todd to gordon brown and signed the memorandum ,it failed. the biggest problem the turkish government have at the moment is tourism and this is mostly what they are concerned about ,hence you have seen some flight prices gone down. stay chilled guys . musin long live the kktc

You are right Musin. It's all conjecture. No one knows anything about the talks only the people directly involved. We are not going to have our properties taken away from us - full stop.

Musim, Are the British naive? Nah! Trusting maybe. Hoping that the matter can be resolved in good faith, with everyones rights protected. If the talks fail, will The TRNC be internationally recognised? In that event I think The Greeks would be told , that they have had two chances, and International recognition will be granted. Just my views, thats all! wyn.

Wyn The GREEKS live in a country 300 miles to the west.. I take it you mean do you mean Greek speaking Cypriots..? ;) The "TRNC" in it's present form will NEVER, EVER be recognised.. China and Russia would veto any attempt to overturn the Security Council Resolution to remind members that it's declaration of independence is legally "invalid" - unless the "rump" RoC and TCs can settle their differences, the RoC can wave this *big* legal stick and prevent Direct flights and many EU aid initiatives that would involve TCs

musin, you rearly have been in north london far too long. check out what your family and friends think! my tc friends think differently. its ok for you cypriots elsewhere, your ok, nobody is going to take your home! you can tell it how ever you like, but the ormans case will lead the way. the trnc is bancrupt(if not for turkeys funding) who wants it 's e.u membership. come on musin, its not rocket science to see what is going to happen. what is it pay back for all those years of british rule in cyprus?

fire starter my point that i make with this post is ....stop listening to utter garbage ,because that,s what it is. secondly i have bought a home on greek land and i have properties in britain ,so i am in exactly the same situation as the orams . you may have some turkish cypriot friends as you keep repeating to people ,but i am a turkish cypriot . the kktc is bankrupt [if not for turkeys funding] ,so as you are in the know who do you think is going to bail out bankrupt britain. lastly you quote what is it payback for all those years of british rule in cyprus i don,t quite understand what you mean ,please explain. musin

musin i don't think it is utter garbage( as most of my tc friends don't in our tc village) it wont affect us! you cannot make anyone here believe that you are in the same situation as any brit here or the orams, as you said yourself you are a tc! you are one turkish cypriot and i respect your views but i do not have to agree with them as i speak with my tc friends, and live in a tc village. (i will add that most of them would not buy exchange/pre74 gc lands.) this weeks paper says it all, get a copy and read! turkey is the only thing keeping the trnc afloat. try being around your own people who are suffering and it says it all. do you think they want to shop in the south? no, needs must! it is quite clear to me from talking to tc's and gc's that you all hold a grudge against the british for their time here ruling cyprus. i don't blame you for that. but there is no need to punish innocent people. after all the tc's should understand that.

firestarter "it is quite clear to you from talking to tc,s and gc,s that i hold a grudge against the british for their time here ruling cyprus" and you have come to this absurd understanding because of your tc and gc friends talking to you and these friends of yours they know me ,i think not ,have you been reading my posts over the months . you countiniouly get your facts wrong and say things from the top of your head "most of them will not buy exchange or pre74 gc lands have you really thought about that remark ,because if you took a minute to think about it ,you would not say it. i,m sorry rose ,but you really do know very little of cypriots and even less about their politics. as for the british being in cyprus ,i can only say i have dual nationality ,british and turkish ,so stop discharging garbage with no basis . musin

most of the tcs that shop on the south are the ones that have come to live in the north of cyprus from the uk! one london tc family come quite often to my place of work to buy clothes for there teenage children as apparently theres not much choice in famagusta where they live. the original tcs (very few left!) would not be able to afford to come south as very expencive for them, unless they are working here & getting a decent wage! even the uk tcs that now reside here want reunification as they have stated to me on numourous occasions they want the north of the island to have everything the south have!

suzanne the original tc,s are the the uk tc,s ousted by greeks in the sixties ,not much left of them ,but as you state suzanne they are coming back ,now they know they are safe. and no there is plenty of choice in famagusta and all comes from the same place as the clothes in the south, and at the same price ,expensive. the north is not a third world country suzanne as you try to portray,oh congratulations on your new job as a sales assistant. musin long live the kktc

musin who says i`m a sales assistant??? the tcs from the uk were born in the uk & so were there parents way before the 60s ! & as for the north having the same shops!!! the anwser is no they don`t, there is no M&S, no NEXT no MANGO etc etc You should be pleased that the tcs want reunification, they don`t all think like you. they see how the north struggles & want the island to reunite just like the gcs & tcs mix in london.

Hi Juliet (who is Suzanne by the way? Is Juliet someone who used to post as Suzanne) Out of curiosity, can you tell me why you feel that most TC's are in favour of reunification? I agree with you GC's and TC's do integrate well in London. However, I hardly remember a time when I have spoken about the "Cyprus problem" with any of my GC friends, some of them are very close friends! It is like we have this silent respect for one another NOT to discuss it out of politeness, we drop food around to one another, we talk of our families but nothing more. Why do you think that is?

yvonne i do have issues yes with people who post just to annoy and more importantly talk rubbish and continously put down turkish cypriots and the kktc ,now suzanne has been doing this for a long time ,she spouts out rubbish all the time. leylas very well put ,i just like to add how many tc,s would confide in a gc with their true feelings and visa versa,no disrespect too anyone . musin

musin first of all i didn't mean you in a personal way but was talking about tc's and gc's in general. there are still lots of feelings regarding the time of british rule here. most of my tc friends were here during the war, they weren't given any exchange land, and as i said most of them take the view that they would not be interested in greek cypriot land. you think i have a lack of understanding of the tc people? i live with them, all of my best friends here are tc's. i also see the other side of things as i have a family member who is turkish. i do find there is a big attude difference between those tc's who have never left cyprus and those who have. on lots of issues. juliet, you say you think the tc's which shop in the south are uk tc's? when i go shopping most of the people i meet are tc's who are not uk tc's. i met the local judge, a retired general from the army, many policemen, (who have recently been told they are not allowed to go anymore) and many many more l
