(moved from Orams 2 thread)

I know NC is a massive rumour mill, but I have heard on a few occasions that buyers are not getting their PTP and Kocans for Pre-74 Turkish Title Deeds for whatever reason, and long leases have been suggested as a solution.

I don't want a long lease thank you very much !

I bought my property freehold , and consider that I paid a premium to avoid exchange properties.

I am still awaiting PTP and my kocan after 2 years.

So why should I accept a lease, and WHO would be the leaseholder? The TC developer who built and sold it me , or the TRNC government?

Either way, should I get compensation for the loss of freehold?

And what percentage of the purchase price would this be?

I realise that the majority of you are on Exchange Deeds, and have the associated resultant headaches, but any input would be appreciated.

I owned a Turkish title property in Lapta and got my permissions to purchase without a problem. It take about 4 years.

in truth, a 99 year lease is likely to last all purchasers !

Thanks Nick.....but why shouldn't I be able to pass my property on to my children/grandchildren...and why should I have to pay for a lease when I bought freehold?
