I've recently bought an Dovado UMR USB 3G Router, knowing that they work with the Turkcell Modems (ZTE MF622) and I was wondering if anyone is willing to travel to configurate it for me? For a Fee of course..

Hi Static

If memory serve me well, you will probably have to ensure that the router is configured to use the 'LAN' connection (assuming you are using windowsXp or vista) - i found that routers prefer this connection to most other options.

Use the 'network connections option (via the control panel) to set up this type of connection - hope this helps.

If you have already tried this (apologies) - uninstall any original setups for the 3g, then plug in the router/modem, and then try setting up the system (using a LAN configuration), as i have found that the 3G tends to ally itself to original windows USB settings.

good luck

Hi Scruff.

Just joined and was tracking any support in setting up a Turkcell 3G modem dongle to a Edimax 6200n router I brought over from UK, which said it was compatible with The ZTE M622 modem(Turkcell Dongle).

Everything seems to set up OK - LAN & Wireless for the computers I have AND it recognises the 3G dongle.

BUT the dongle is not connected to the Internet, albeit the router holds its PIN number.

(There doesn't sem to be a username and password that come with use of the dnngle?)

Any help from you and others - thanks in anticipation.

Got the Edimax 6200n router working now, apart from entering the Turkcell 3G Modem Pin Number you also have to set the APN to 'internet.kktcell'.

Hope this might helpothers that attempt the installation of a router.

From my earlier notes I had only set the Pin Number.

Reading around the place I came across a note saying the Turkcel APN was 'internet.kktcell'

When I entered this the router went straight on line.

There is no need for any username or password and the other basic settings are automatic with my router having chosen cpountry as Turkey and being offered Turkcell as broadband provider.

So, now all happily working and with a new wireless network that covers at least 50 meters, if not more, as I walk around our local complex of villas.

Thanks for your interest and I hope this helps everyone else who may consider installing a 3G driven router too.

One other thing - usage measurement?

Turkcell now seem tom offer different usage rates and I chose the 60 tl rate for 4 GB per month.

Does anyone know how I might measure actrual usage rate as I go along.

I am not a download freak and want to know how normal email and surfing uses up the monthly usage.

Thanks for your hopeful response.

If you have the Mobile Partner software, (this came with my unlocked Huawei modem), this has a drop down called Statistics, I think the information you are looking for is there.
