I have noticed more recently that both GC and Brit who lend themselves to the idea that everything will be fine by kicking the Brits out ,getting rid of the Turkish settlers and army, integrating with, and trusting the ROC ,all seem to have a multitude of TC friends whom they quote as agreeing with that stand. Reading some threads ,they must be on first name terms with half the population of N.C. As I dont have that advantage ,only knowing a few TCs well,is this a true reflection, The few I have spoken to do not confirm this, and they certainly do not appear to be extremists .

the majority of TC's i have met want the island to stay as is ! thaey constantly say that uniting the island as one would destroy the unique feeling the north has ! i really dont know what to think but having spent lots of time in both north and south i tend to agree !

i know quite a few tc's and some gc's. say maybe 50% of tc's have moved on and would be happy to have a united cyprus. not maybe on the terms you stated but do want a solution and have many gc friends. the other 50% are those who do not want to see change. i mainly find this is the younger group of tc's. the gc's do have those extreame people who want all you mentioned above, but most i speak with want a solution, realise that neither side will get the 100% of what they want and will have to compromise. they do understand that the brits are e.u citizens and that they would be staying as part of the deal. the problems are with the deal that will have to be very carefully negociated regarding exchange land.

I think the TC's opinions on the reunification issue depends on whether they gain or lose. Most TC's that I know who live on family land here in the North (i.e. NOT exchange or "awarded" land) are for reunification as one Island community. Those on the other hand who have been awarded land and may lose out, want to maintain the status quo.
