Car Insurance - who to go with??

Hi - just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or warnings regarding car insurance?? Have a small hatchback and heard that some insurance will cover you for the south too? Does anyone know if that is the case... I would want fully comp... If anyone can provide any guidance - it would be much appreciated...



Someone has mentioned Steve Wilkinson - anyone got any experience of his company.... (hope i got his name right???!)

Its Steve Dickinson very very reliable you can find him at Eden estates by the celebrity in Lapta i certainly wouldnt consider anybody else.

We use iktisatbank and find them very helpful and the 10% discount you get off both your car and house insurance more than pays for the BRS membership. Previous threads on house insurance comment on how efficient they are at paying out when a claim is put in. There are english departments in the branches.

KIBRIS SIGORTA covers you in the south when your care is fully insure - as well - very reliable - - no problem to pay you - we had a few damage due to the wind and they paid the bill -

I rencently discovered a company called "UK-POLICY" who have officies in Karakum, opposite Mermaid Fabrics. They have an agency with Commercial Insurance in Lefkosa & a DIRECT placing facility with UK/London underwriters with regards to their Home Ins & Business Ins policies.

This direct facility was arranged by a former Lloyd's of London broker, who has now settled in the TRNC. My Home ins policy is exactly the same as my policy in the UK (Norwich Union). The motor policy I took out was placed localy through Commercial Ins & I was given a 15% for buying both. I was emailed an automated home quote system which allowed me to prepare & price my own policy. Full premium & charges breakdown was also shown. They have offices in London too. Give them a try, it costs nothing to find out!

ask some cypriots, they will tell you who are best and worse.

a friend saw my first policy when i came here, then went crazy, because the company were rubbish and known for not paying out.

Yes I did arrange an insurance facility with London underwriters and can confirm that Commercial Ins is the only local insurer thats works directly with the UK. All other local insurance companies arrange their reinsurance cover with Turkey, hence they all sell the same product? This does not meen that they are no good or dont pay claims! All insurers have good security. Dont listen to gossip or be part of it! It's up to the client to choose both insurer & agent. I started my insurance carrier with Lloyds in 1973 & still work with them, for which I am very proud of. Actually, I was waiting for you to pop up. You think this forum is not regulated or checked? Think again.
