I remember last year at Christmas time there was bad fog at Heathrow and Stansted and one of the CTA flights actually flew from Luton

Pat,

We had a wonderful time skiing thanks, but we did have a bit of an arduous journey to the airport in Manchester.

We had to be there at about 4-30am for a 7am flight. We were all going to bed about 10pm the night before, for about 4 hours.

At about 9-30 I decided to check all the passports, only to find 3 of the 4 in the drawer they are normally kept in. My eldest sons was missing!

On enquiry, he calmly said, o yeh that's in my drawer in my room at Uni, so mad panic, packed up the cases dead quick, threw them in the car straight away and drove 200 miles to Carlisle and then to the airport.

It was -4 C and thick fog most of the way too. We made it to the airport with about 5 mins to spare.

Close shave what!!!

Hi steve glad everything was sorted in the end , and that you all had a great time. these kids really know how to make our lives difficult don't they ,and i think they get worse as they get older. my son lost his passport the day he was flying home. he went to british high comm, they said he would have to report to police to get report then go back to them ,to issue emergency travel docs. 85 euros for doc , my son didnt have enough money they phoned me to verify details ie my passport no ect , then told me to sign fax when it came through, now i have never used a fax machine in my life ,to say i was frantic at that point is an understatement , then i had to buy him another ticket for the journey home .his credit on his phone had run out so i had to phone him every 15mins to know what was going on . ok everything was sorted would arrive luton at 7pm i was going out to dinner in milton keynes so i just about had enough time to get to luton pick him up get back to tring then go on to mk or so i thought. flight arrived 90 mins late there was nothing on the internet to suggest a delay . too late to go out for dinner , to frazzled to think rationally and ranted at him all the way home about responsability so all in all i too had a pretty good start to xmas. where was my husband ? oh he was in manchester wining and dining his staff stayed the night in luxury hotel ,and took leisurely.drive back home next day totally relaxed. he wanted to know how i turned white overnight i told him !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh no it certainly does'nt get any better i'm afraid

regards pat
