Hi, normally there is a bit of a waiting list ( Limas(s)ol - don't know about other places ) and they require a REAL address and proof of ID.

I paid €64 for two years.

re msg - the address should be a Cyprus address.. not SURE if a north one would go down well unless it is registered with the RoC land registry...

I was thinking that whilst they wouldn't accept a northern address they may accept an EU address seeing as they are part of the EU.

I got one last week from post office in Eleftheria Square for around 38 Euro for 1 year.

I know that the po boxes in the lefkosa district post office in strovolos are full.

Getting a po box in south is great because you will not pay customs for things you buy from the UK, whereas if you get it shipped in Mersin 10 Turkey, you pay customs for anything above 50 TL, as far as I know.

We have a PO Box in Dherynia. We told them we live in the North (always do) and it was no problem. Just a passport needed. 38 Euros including 3 keys.

3 of us share it and all check for each other.

Hi hilltop,

Re; msg 13 - I have just been over to the south with my passport (and money of course) and they refused to accept my application as I needed an address in the south, they even made a telephone call to some central post office in the area and the answer was a definite NO.

When did you get yours? Maybe they changed the rules recently.

Can you give me some directions to the Dherynia post office please?

If you contact Mr. Fixit he has an RoC P.O. Box in Nicosia. He will pick up mail and parcels sent to that address for a fee.

Hi Hippo,

will bear you in mind but first I have to get myself around providing an address in the south. It seemed quite easy according to Hilltop but the reality seems a little different.

Will come back to you if I get that far.

hi izzet

i have loads of stuff sent here, never had to pay any customs duty.

also if you buy online say from amazon if your post code is mersin 10 turkey you don't have to pay vat on your goods because it is classed as outside the e.u.

TRNC is outside the EU as far as VAT is concerned, anyway.

Izzet and Firestarter, How did you get your post boxes in the south? I went and was told I had to have an address and contact number in the south to qualify for one. They would in no way accept an address in the north.
