Dongle receiver is 149 tl. Or pay up front for 1 year and get dongle free.

I have just got one this week, and so far it has been brilliant.

I am in Esentepe (Turtle Bay), was told by the very friendly girl in Turkcell it would be really slow, but went ahead with it and it is really fast and I have had no problems at all, have had lots of applications open and done lots of downloading.

we have had 3g for 2 weeks and whilst it is not as fast as turkcell advertise it to be it is certainly faster that sunnycyprus. I hope that as time passes turkcell will iron out their teething problems and it can only get better

I've been using it in Karsiyaka for the past month - no problems, really pleased with the service. Have recommended it to loads of my neighbours who are struggling with their current providers.

Will let you know when I return. Going to take my UK 3g dongle, purchase a turkcell card to see what happens, if not then I'll use it in the mobile.

Update everyone then, as I will have tried it out and tested it fully.

Hi all

Very pleased with 3G - no downtime.

Its not always as fast as some providers or as turkcell suggest, but this can depend on where you are, as Turkcell have not got complete coverage yet.

There are some problems with signal strength but this can be overcome by good positioning of the modem/dongle - if necessary buy a USB extension lead and avoid any nearby appliances which also give out magnetic pulses such as mobile phones, PC speakers, and TV's which can cause the signal to disconnect.

Ensure you set the 3G for 'only UMTS' for best reception. I have posted some tips on earlier postings, as some people have had problems with setting it up, so i won't repeat them here.

Overall a good service, and when the promised upgrades appear ...? it should get better.

Do you think I can use a 3G the year round for a 3G camera in my house in trnc. So I don't need a PC and I can see the pictures at home and ee what's happening at any time? Tx for your technical advise.

For anyone using it in the Karsiyaka area we were told that we are not getting the full signal because there is no base station. We was also told that if a few of us got together and wrote to the manager then they would put a base station in the area so we would get a better signal.

I get 1mg to 3mg in Karsiyaka which is more than enough to watch streamed TV and sports, download films and use skype etc.

Ricky msg 14... you should get a really good signal in Alsancak.

Pause it, then let the red line go to the end then press play should be ok.

I have Telsim 3G having no signal strength from Turkcell. 49TL/m limited, however, after connecting to a UK VPN to obtain BBC iplayer, download becomes unlimited, hurrah! 6 months up front (294TL) includes dongle. Telsim 444 0542
