Don't dump it AVG is excellent but make sure you are using the latest version!!!

If you have the problem descriped above it is becasue of a corrupt file. Have a look here for the solution.

The problem with AVG can be found here http://free.avg.com/faq.num-1243#faq_1243

As with any problems, it is easy to type them in Google and find the answer!

Dear Andy re msg 7

Totally agree re AVG free.. in fact the "internet security" features in AVG/ Norton, etc "full" versions drive me insane - as they slow down the PC too much :(

Also makes the use of VPNs - virtual private networks - to connect to the UK - and many other useful progs- a nightmare.

Stick with AVG free and the built in Windows software firewall.

I would appreciate your comments on the Slingbox thread re the figures Nige and Gooligan have quoted for 3G performance - particularly upload speeds.

I had the same problem with AVG 8.

Couldn't get it to reload without an error message and when redirected got a website not known message.

The error detail googled came up as a trojan horse virus, not sure if it was though.

I did what dwr6rtr did.

I reloaded 7.5 and updates and it's working fine now.

Do AVG still provide updates to 7.5. Usually after a new version is issued within a short period they no longer do regular updates for older versions.

Would this be possible, having sorted out a few problems on a laptop, e mails were sent and received. then installed AVG 8 now e mails are being bounced back after some time.
