Hi Everyone

Can anybody recommend a good company to replace my metal tank with a bigger plastic one as it's leaking?

Also I think I need a new water pump because it's very noisy and keeps cutting in and out all night. My neighbour looked at yesterday and he said it needs changing. Does anyone know how much it's likely to cost to sort out these problems?

It might nit be your pump that it broken, just the control unit on top.... Where abouts are you... I know a good plumber at reasonable rates.

You may be better not to replace a metal tank with a plastic one. A two tonne plastic tank which looks bigger that a two tonne metal is in fact smaller. Further it is not advised to put a plastic tank on a metal tank stand as the loads are different. I mention this as we had one stand fail when a plastic tank had been put on a metal tank stand, not by us I hasten to mention. Again you may not need a new pump as it is working and the controller is only doing its job! you most likely have a small leak. Much cheaper to fix! Call Johhn on Cyprus Solutions 0533 836 7094

Ah yes two tonne tanks. In steel they are about 1.6 tomnes (1.6m3) and plastic two tonnes vary from 1.28 to 1.4, you must realise these are Cyprus tonnes!

In the ground you will need a 5 tonne tank, they must be thick walled underground version to avoid them caving in. We have had several cases where customers have been sold the wrong tanks which have caved in. Please call John on 0533 836 7094.

Regards

Nick

get to the point guys she wants a cost... A two tonne tank cost about 450tl including a stand, a good quality italian 1hp pump will cost 230tl (pedrollo make) it would take a couple of hours to put in place at a reasonable labour cost. if you pm me i will send you contact details of a man who can!

Hi all

I got 1 quote today for a 5 ton plastic tank buried in the ground, with a new pump and control unit fitted. The company also offered to repair my old metal tank and fit it to my pool to collect the waste water for free-never thought of this, can use the water for my garden!

I have another company coming on monday to quote from Nicosia, want to get 3 quotes before going ahead-anyone know a good local company?

Try Ersem Yapi Market, speak to Celal or Serhat. Their shop is on the right hand side going towards Girne just before Starling (formerly Fresco's)which is on the left. I have used them a few times, and been more than happy with the workmanship. They talk straight, and will visit and quote without obligation. They are lovely guys

Tell them Naci sent you

Hi all

Got a second quote today from a company in Nicosia, sounds like a good company and seems a good price.

Nick (cyprusactive)

Thanks but NO THANKS!

Heard 2 bad reports about Cyprus Solutions and John over the last 2 days, my friend has used this company and said they were very expensive with a poor standard of workmanship and even worse, no after sales care- Definatly NOT a company I want to deal with!

You can use the water for your garden if taken from the pool into a tank if you leave it for a few days or when it has settled pump it back into the pool room tank.
