I have read that Pakistani citizens are exempted from visa requirement to visit TRNC. Suppose, I come to TRNC with a purpose of tourism and then feels that North Cyprus is a place to broaden my education. Then, would it be possible for me to study there without coming back to Pakistan. Please help me.

Thank you for your time.

Perhaps, you misunderstood me. I'm saying that would it be possible for me to change my status from visitor to a international student once I'm TRNC. I will pay international fee and will be a full time student.

dear haroon

The only way for you to get a answer to your queries is to contact the unis directly...they should be able to advise.

From your queries it seems you are trying to leave Pstan to move to canada via a western education in NC?

good luck

I will need a Turkey transit visa, I believe. I'm not saying I will come without visa. I'm saying If I come to TRNC as a tourist and then feels that TRNC is a good place for higher education then would it be possible for me to study there as a internationa student...

I hope you understand what I'm saying.

Dear Haroon

AOA. As long as you get the visa for Turkeyin Islamabad, N. Cyprus will give you a three months visitors visa on arrival. Changing your statusto Student is not a problem; many have done it.

The question is, howeveer, whetherthe right courses and of the right standard are available -that you can check on the internet

I think you will find it impossible we employ 3 from pakistan and there ae very many others here. One studies at uni and hisfamily pay a lot of money for his education. They have terrible problems oobtaing visas etc. Contact your embassy also the embassy here that deals with people from your country. If you work here to help with your fees who will have to have a work permit and beleive me we have had nightmares getting these for our boys. Do you have any pakistani friends or family here who can help. Also check that the qualification you get wil be valid and accepted around th world. good luck lilli

Thank you very much for all your replies.

Fred, your reply is the most helpful of all. Are you sure?

I will not work there. My family will pay the university fee. If I get enrolled in a North Cyprus university from Pakistan, then I will have to pay one or two semesters tuition before coming there and which cannot be refunded. So, it's a risk. I have never lived without my parents. First, I want to see North Cyprus and then will enroll in some university personally. If I like TRNC then I can start living there as an international student.

My main question was is it possible to change the status from visitor to student once you are in TRNC.

I believe Pakistani citizens do not need visa or they are issued a visa on arrival for TRNC.

100%. Turkey & Cyprus is the only corners of the world Pakistani's are are 'unconditionally' welcome!!! Whilst in many countries the perception of Pakistan and her citizens, especially after 9/11, is one of suspicion and fear the Turks (incl Cypriots) is one of love and effection. From my research on the subject the reasons go to the times of British India but the warmth of feelings has remained. The special relation between the cuntries is translated on the ground to beween people to people. Please indicate your email and I shall intimate more info relevantto you

Fred, thank you very much. You are so nice.

Yes, you are correct. I was really amazed when I read that Pakistani citizens do not need a visa to travel to TRNC. I also read that there was a time when even for Turkey there was no visa requirement.

When I was in college there was a long chapter on Attaturk, Khilafat Movement, and Turkey, in general. There are many places in Pakistan which have some connection to Turkey, e.g. there is a Attaturk Avenue in Islamabad.

Check my profile for e-mail ID.

With best wishes,

Haroon

Lilli, thank you very much.

By the way, may I ask you people a question? Are you, Lilli and Fred, Turkish? Your forums names sound as if you are English.

Once again, thanks for the suggestions.

Haroon,

If you book a return ticket and pre book your hotel accomodation, you will not have any problem coming as a turist.

You can email Apex Tour to book your accomodation.

If you decide to study at one of the local Unis. no problem, you will need to pay the fee and show immigration ability to maintain yourself without working, than you get student visa. good luck
