Has anyone been on this site and got in touch with an old school friend? Did you ever meet up with them?

Never used the website myself but know people who have, with some good and some bad results! I think there is a subscription charge or there used to be.

I wonder if anyone has actually met an old boy/girlfriend and got married?

Think I read someone in a newspaper that it had caused a few break ups!

Once only , did i meet up with 2 , nothing in common at all , did'nt meet up again , but glad i met them . Only made me remember why i had not kept in touch with them , i did'nt like them then , and i still don't like them now

Yes, I was contacted by someone I went to junior school with. Interesting to catch up but we have very different lives and live in different contries so will probably never meet. How much can you have in commmon with someone you last saw 45 years ago? We just exchange joke emails now.

There isn't a subscription charge as I joined about 6 months ago and couldn't find anyone that I was interested in restarting a friendship then out of the blue I received an email from someone whose family and mine used to be friends in various countries around the world as we were in the RAF. It will be interesting to see where this goes but there aren't too many people I would want to rekindle a friendship with from bygone days

i met up with an old friend. after meeting up twice. i decided we were too different.

i also met another friend not through friends reunited. but on a bus hadn't seen her since i was 17 . she is flaming bonkers. no i think that part of my life is over. it would be interesting to see some just to see what they look like. the cute boys probably fat and bald.

i have found two school friends. We lost touch 30 years ago. have emailed each other and going to meet up in July when i go to London. We have often wondered what the others have done in the last 30 years and now we are going to find out.

I, too met up with 2 schoolfriends a couple of years ago. We'd kept in touch via Christmas cards, but decided to take the plunge. It was great - it was as though we'd been talking the day before! This wasn't done via Friends Reunited, but we all came from the Dartford area and we now live in Suffolk and they live in Cambridgeshire. We are still very much in touch and, an added bonus, our husbands got on well too. Every time we meet up, as I said, it's as though 40 odd years had never happened. Paul says he thinks this is probably rare, and reading some comments on here, I'd say he was right!!

Pauls probably right Jean. After 40 years you wouldn't have thought you'd have much in common.

I have been contacted by a few old school friends via friends reunited, some of who I went to primary school with. They were surprised how much I remebered about them. One girl I went to school with was relating to two of her friends that she had contacted me, one of them then said" I used to go out with him when we were at school" the other one said "yes so did I", good job they did not compare dates.
