| Bit of a grim subject, but how many of you with properties in TRNC have made a lWill out? We have, it cost £100 each and was registered at Girne Court House. Has anyone had the misunfortune to be in the position of whether the system actually works. Or if your spouse dies, do you go through as much red tape as buying a property. Any shared comments / actual events would be welcome. |

| My dad died in 1987, fortunately my parents didnt own any property in trnc but had a car registered in Dad's name. Under trnc law ownership of the car went not to my mother but to me, being the eldest (and only) son. I had to sign some document, have it witnessed by a notary in UK and pay a sum to the trnc office in London to allow ownership of the car to pass to my mother. My parents had made a will in UK but it was not recognised by the trnc authorities. |
