Met Nelson Mandela in Capetown one morning at 7 in the morning, me him and 4 very athletic men in leather jackets with automatic weapons, i had wandered into a restricted government area. He thought it highly amusing laughed, smiled and wished me a good morning. (12 years ago)

I was on the Richard & Judy show - immediately after Simon Cowell and before a man who claimed the longest tongue in the UK! Max Clifford was in the green room with me and Simon but did not appear on the show.

With my brother being in Jools Holland's band, i have obviously met a good range of well known musicians backstage.

Cheers,

Ralph

I worked for the Savoy Group as an Airport Rep for a while. Met various celebs including; Ronald Reagan and his Wife, actually very charming. The one that surprised me was Elton John. He arrived at Heathrow Terminal 1 with a cavalcade of 20 plus Trucks of Baggage which 8 of us hauled to Terminal 4.

Got the sum of £20 Tip to share between us !!!!

Message 5 Hi Ralph, Had the pleasure of front row seat at Weston Park Staffs about 4 years ago to see Jools. We experienced a THUNDERSTORM the likes I have not seen since my days in Girne. Despite this, Show went on (Later) no pun intended, and brilliant it was too.

I saw Bobby Moore in the Rose Inn in Great Wakering [near Southend] in the early eighties one afternoon. My hero since 1966.........did I ask him for his autograph?? Well no, he was in there for a quiet drink and I thought it would be unfair to disturb him.......won't get the chance now.

I once stood behind someone in a checkout in Morrisons supermarket one day in August in 1983, I think it was a Tuesday and it was raining.

Anyway, the woman in front said to the checkout operator that they had just spoken to a bloke at a party but she wasn't sure, but that he had seen Cliff Richard at a concert a couple of years before and talked to some bird who had a mate who was a groupie who had slept with one of the bouncers who reckoned he had his autograph of Cliff but I don't believe it.

Does this count?

eager msg 18 - Keith Coleman

I've seen/met lots of old West Ham players as most of them live in my local area. Frank Bruno and Steve Davies are also near neighbours and we often saw Frank out running round the country lanes.

I also saw Julie Goodyear (Bet Lynch in Corry) in a supermarket in Lanzarote when she was all over the front pages of the papers and the press were looking for her (can't remember what for now). Rushed back to get a camera but by the time we got back she had disappeared. My friend's husband who is a photographer for the Sun said a picture would have been worth thousands lol!!

Rod Stewart and Rachel Hunter shopping in Epping.

Spent a few hours drinking with Anthony Worral Thomson at the Hotel Du Vin in Bristol, a really down to earth character.

The best one is when i was on holiday in Kos once again having a beer, Charles Dance was in the bar and wanted to try on my sandals that were new as he wanted to buy a pair, I never got any commision from Clarkes. !!

I appeared on stage with Robbie Williams. I also got to push him to the floor too every night for a week. Of course this was in the days before he was famous!

We appeared in a local Amateur Dramatic society who were doing Oliver when he played the Artful Dodger. I also used to drink in the same pub as him that was across the road from his house (The Ancient Briton) but, sadly, has now been knocked down.

I would also sell fake Robbie autographs to the girls that came and sat on the pavement opposite his house for hours at a time hoping to see him, but he was rarely there.
