Hi all,

Did anyone notice page 3 of the Cyprus Today had a small article on Imperial Construction and an apology to Mr.Ben? It looks like Cyprus Today made a few hiccups last week and wanted to clarify a couple of points but didn't really clarify much.

So what happened then?

Did the court side with expats or not?

Did Imperial do any wrong?

Did Imperial have to pay compensation?

I took the mater up with cyprus today:

Talk to the jornalised that wrote the article, comunicate both with managing directoer and the editor, I gave them all the fact, so did my lawyer.

I believe at last made the journalist realised that his article was reflecting the truth. However, this is as far as they could go to put the facts right. In the future I will be suspecting of evrything that this paper reports.

For all those that might be interested:

1) No the court did not sided with expats.

2) No there were no penalty or compensation paid. It could not be because it was a settlement out of court.

3) No there were no freezing of Imperial assets.

4)No MR. Ben is not expecting to sell the villa for £500,000. He will sell the villa two bungalows and one flat for that sum.

5) No the judge did not upgrate the two flats from leeshold to freehold.

6) No the Taylors lawyer did not issue cout papers against Imperial.

etc etc etc.

Is this journalizm?

I guess Cyprus Today agrees with you nick and thats to be in favor of us brits. But at what cost? Maybe the truth should have been a factor. All I know is that there are so many negative stories about builders and its hard enough to find honest opinions and research. I would have thought Cyprus Today was a good place to start to get the truth. From now on I will think twice about what i believe in the paper..

Cyprus Today should be ashamed of themselves. They seem to be only interested in scaremongering rather than getting to the truth. We are having problems on our site which has been mortgaged and asked the paper not to print a story because we were trying our best to find a solution for all involved. As far as they are concerned it is a newsworthy story and that is all they care about. This week, they were contacted by one of the homeowners and told we were working with our builder to find a solution yet they chose to publish a quote from Marian Stokes instead. We have also asked her not to comment but hey ho she obviously has bigger fish to fry to care about how this is affecting us.

Maybe I won't renew my annual subscription. I've been concerned about the style of reporting for some time. Ian Shepherd seems to have been slowly squeezed out.

Imperial Construction are one of the finest builders on this island. I have known Gultekin Ben M.D. of Imperial for several years and found his workmanship and reliability to be second to none. All of my customers have been totally satisfied with this company. As previously and wisely said 'Why let the truth get in the way of a good story'
