My friend has just purchased the 3g from Turkcel. He has a desk top computer which I would assume is ok to use. He is having a problem as it doesn't seem to load onto his computer. The status shows that he has been connected but can't seem to get on the net. Any ideas.

RE msg 1, tarry67 : Your friend should also check his USB ports. They must be USB 2.0 (written on the 3G box - older desktops are often not 2.0). I've heard and read about several people with desktop computers with USB 1.1 - and I haven't obtained any proof of a succesful installation.

Couldn't get on with 3g, too slow, have a desktop linked to another pc. Now back with extend, perfect in comparison.

RE msg 4, Static-X : (...) Laptop (...)

===> I wrote about "desktop", Static. I heard no problems with any *laptops*, but I know several people who could connect their *desktop-with-USB-1.1* to a certain point - and there they (and I, trying to connect a desktop for a friend) encountered the same problem with the same message.

Some people tried for many hours, read everything about 3G-problems on the Internet, checked the 3G-helpdesk and checked a website where - I think AndyP - offers expert advice on 3G --- but: no...

Re message 1......

I've just been down this long and frustrating road. Being determined not to give up I spent many hours researching this problem on the internet. I won't go into the steps I took but I eventually confirmed that it was not my pc that was causing the problem; it was the operating system. I backed up all my data and performed a clean install of Windows XP. I am now connected!

===> Ah, that's good news! Just one question: your computer's USB ports are 1.1?

Email me with as much info as possible. Also have a look in internet explorer at the Internet Options - Connections tab and tell me whats listed and also on the Lan settings.

You never know I may be able to fix it.
