I'll get slaughtered for saying it, but get a gas BBQ. I had one in the UK and I still maintain they are the easiest, most convenient you can get. Get the type with lava rocks in it - these heat up and the hot fat drips on them and makes the smoke that gives the flavour.

I agree, gas BBQ's are the best.

We brought gas one with us but much prefer the local Mangal.



If not seen, a tin tray on legs, put in charcoal and away you go.



During summer and some of winter you will see them smoking in many back gardens on Sunday, or at one of the several picnic areas. Great fun.

Message 6 - agree, we've got one of these. We've also found the charcoal bought in TRNC is excellent.
