Do any of the hotels & restaurants in Kyrenia have wifi access - either free when buying drinks etc. or for a charge? Have tried using the internet cafes but the loud music & kids playing video games drive me mad, & I'm not sure how secure they are. Thankyou.

When my son & his wife were out at Christmas they went to a little hotel in Girne and used their laptop with the hotel's wifi - they just bought the odd coffee & snack - Can't remember the name but will find out and post it on here for you.

Have you tried using the eXtend Hotspots for a daily/weekly/monthly fee? Most of Kyrenia central has a signal, so you can get online wherever you are. Like most TRNC services it can change!! so an update from any current Hotspot users would be useful.

Hi Kyreniagirl,

As you know, when you switch on your WiFi laptop it searches for signals and comes up with a list. These are identified by a title and an indication as to the strength of signal, and whether it is password protected. If you are in an eXtend hotspot - for example by the 'big screen' in Kyrenia centre - your computer will let you know. it's a bit 'hit & miss' but if you find you're in an eXtend hotspot area, then pop along to their office and buy a password and username. After that you just connect to the hotspot and follow the instructions. As I said before, it would be useful to have some more recent information as to the cost and where people have found a hotspot.
