A great achievement indeed but surely its negative thinking to even consider Beckham for the next world cup,

Paul.

Paul, if he's playing well I think you have to consider him.

Hi Yvonne

Maybe its just my opinion ` but yes I think this man is a true ambassador and gentleman in his sport . He was betrayed by Alex Fergusson and Man U and still kept his dignity!. Great Football player Never moans gets on with the job . has raised a respectfull family is a very wealthy man , and last but not least Has got Golden Balls. P.S I am a Liverpool Supporter.Ron(aldo/

Ron, my family are all Liverpool supporters too! Me, I'm not way into footie - but like rugby - especially the Springboks.

Yes, I love to watch him play. He almost 'dances' around the pitch - so elegant etc. But as for 'gentleman' and 'ambassador' - I don't quite get that. When I think 'gentleman' I see Clarke Gable (and that he ain't) and when I see 'Ambassador', I see someone like the incredible Nelson Mandela.

Sure, the guy is a great footballer (most times), but perspective, perspective, perspective...

With respect, Y

Skillful & talanted are not words I`d use to describe Becks. Just the ability to deliver crosses and good at dead ball situations. Ambassador or just good PR team. I think the olny reason he is still there is because the FA need a high profile. I once thought they were grooming Shrek to take over but not now.. Looks like Wallcot gonna cop the job.

He works tirelessly for charities. His effort to get the Olympics here in 2012 was unsurpassed.

He is without doubt a true ambassador for sport in this country.

Could'nt lace Bobby Moore's boots? You are obviously an 'irons' fan. So Bobby Moore captained our only world cup winning side - that aside he was just an average footballer like the rest of the '66 team. Only Jimmy Greaves was a world class player at that time, and yes I know he didn't get in the team for the final.

I have never forgiven Sir Alex for what he did to David Beckham and all credit to David, he just put his head down and got on with it. His services to charity are commendable.

Average footballer, good crosser of the ball. brilliant pr team around him, decent ambassador for football and the country as long as it keeps his profile up. Good role model for kids.

Great achievement by Beckham and i have alot of time for the guy.No one can doubt his commitment and when he left united i was gutted. But its time to move on now.Let him beat Bobbby Moores record and then look at grooming the youngsers for the next world cup.Players like Bentley,Lennon and Walcott are the future for english football.Well done Becks but its time to start a new chapter,

Paul.

The late great George Best said David Beckham cant tackle ,cant dribble ,cant beat a defender, cant head a ball ,cant kick with his left foot, but other than that he is a great player. How right he was.

Kernowboy. For the last 10 years of his life Georgie Best couldn't string two words together let alone a sentence.

Being a Villa supporter, i'm not really that bothered about Beckham equalling Bobby Moore's record, both were quality players. However, i am worried that Carlton Cole is now only 107 behind them.

If Beckham spent more time commited to Man U than poncing around on the catwalk in his under crackers he would probably still be a Man U player today .

With the likes of Scholes, Giggs and Neville I might add.

The response was not a judgement of GB's football skills of which there us no doubt very few have surpassed. My comments merely stated the fact that he was drunk the last 10 years of his wasted life.

Georgie Best was without doubt the greatest player ever to come out if the UK. Apart from Pele he was the greatest player I've ever seen. Such a sad end to his life.

I think Beckham is a good footballer and a good bloke it is a shame who he is married to at least she has admitted that after all these years being in the spice girls and pocketing loads of money that she can never make it on her own at last she,s honest about one thing.

Pass the sick bag.

How can any serious football fan compare Beckham with Best?

Rev Walker got it right in Cyprus Today.

I can`t believe I`m agreeing with a spuds fan but he`s spot on!
