As we are back in the UK for a couple of weeks I thought we might buy some of those basin plugs like they use in the hotels ie. the pop up ones or the ones that look like you've dropped a penny in the hole which you just flip to let the water go away. Does anyone know if they would fit the standard bathroom sinks in Cyprus. I'm assuming they don't sell them in Cyprus as I've never seen them in the Yapi. Thanks Karen

Oh that's a shame. Still it felt like a good idea at the time. Its just we've tried every combination of plugs for the sink but none fit. Suppose the next step is change the sink to one that has a plug but that seems a bit extreme. Thanks for your help Spud1 Karen

Hi all Spud mabey Im wrong but all basins ( not sinks) accept a universal 1`1/4" grating which can easily be swaped with the pop up type (push button) This also has been my trade for the last 25 years but i could be wrong. Orangekazzie I am over in May and would happily check for you at no charge

hi north4me & orangekazzie the waste pipes on my sink&basins all the same 1-3/4 not the norm i took some 1-1/2 crome wastes & pipe & traps over with me you can get rubber insets over there best thing to do to the basins is change the screw on tops to 1-1/4 then ur ok for plugs. the crome waste for sink i took over a 1-1/2 unsloted waste and trap with connections for w/m and d/w i hope to be back over the end of the month i will have a look for you spud1

Sink plugs are cheap -- buy a couple sizes and worst is that you get stuck with a piece of rubber to through at stray cats!
