Whats that expression? Cutting ones nose to spite ones face?

Clever move in a recession and the south apparently desperate for tourists!

Hypocrites of the highest order, The amount of money that Israel has pumped in to the north for investment.....and they are pulling out of an event due to one stand which was not going to be limited advertising!! :QUOTE: Last week the Israeli Foreign Ministry wrote to the fair's organisers, telling them to make sure the company in the north, which was welcome to participate, didn't show symbols of the unrecognised Turkish Cypriot state, such as flags, posters, signs, brochures, business cards, movies and other paraphernalia!!!!!!.

What I would like to know.....is when the GC's finally finish with all their demands on what they want from the North......what exactly are the they going to leave the TC's with ?

Better not say much more as I will be on a suspension, GRRRRRRR.

The only people who will suffer will be those in the Tourist business in the South. It's their loss.

I've got a lot of sympathy for the greek cypriots

amidst all the huff and puff about illegal hotels and unrecognised tourism,

tightening the blockade as they simultaneously "negociate" a peace deal

'afore you know it the outside world will get tired of flattering their delusions

and hey presto! the immoral isolations come crashing down about their ears

as suddenly as the berlin wall and then where are you I mean where are you

Dear Paul

re msg 1

some background ..

the Roc and Israel are not "buddies" .. esp. not since loads of Israeli money bought land in the north.

Cyprus is very pro Palestinian ..

You have a point, of course, as the RoC doesn't pull out of other events in other countries - if there is some "TRNC" promotion..

Tiggy, they will only be happy when they have the whole Island to themselves, that is all they have ever wanted. that's why everyone's in the situation we are in, no doubt Juliet will have something to say on the matter though.

Again supposition on your part. Keep up the good work. Your credibility now stands at 0%.

All this "debating" by you ex-pats who live there really does amuse me.You choose to go and live in a country with obvious political instability then start giving your views on what should happen by both sides to solve the problem.Do you think for one moment that any solution is going to be to your liking,I doubt it very much.Things are not going too wellback here in the UK but there is not a lot I can do about it,so I just have to get on with it and manage the best I can,and thats what you lot have to do.The one thing I am sure of is that if I have any problems about, property ,electric, gas, you name it,the people I am talking to speak the same language and I understand what they are saying.I dont have to worry about translations,I know exactly where I stand, which is more than some of you can say.So stop worrying ,enjoy your life as it is and just get on with it.If it changes for the worse you can always come back to this godfosaken country called ENGLAND...

The majority of British ex-pats are the same the world over Coachie.

Gathering in little enclaves to slag off the country they left behind, and then moan about how their adopted country does not come up to scratch.
