After one year of debating weather to get a dog we finally did. The problem we have now is she has a friend that we cannot get rid of, unbelivable! we now have 2 dogs. It just does not want to go away, its a lovely dog, very friendly, my girlfriend says he looks about 1yr old, if we had not got our new dog we would have definetly kept this dog, its white with patches of brown, nobody knows who owns him, girlfriend just cannot help but feeding it and it just cant get enough of it, we just cant keep 2, as much as we would like too. KAR cant take him at this time because its a boy, their just taking bitches and pups at this time. home wanted for this poor fellow..

Never will give to KAR. Did not want to know when my dog was running loose outside for three days. They did me a favour actually because he is just

adorable. I also now have two cats. Reckon I`m doing their work for them.

this happened to my friend in lapta. she has a dog, but a stray pregnant bitch took a shine to her front door step. the rescue people took it, spayed it, then put it back on her door step! her dog opens the door for it every day now, so she has no choice but to feed her. its called 'poppy' now. Im glad shes a caring person. if i lived there permantly, id prob end up with my home turning into a zoo. i coudnt turn any animal away.lol

Kelvin, if you did not want to keep him then you should not have encouraged/fed him. We have three, two dogs are better than one, they keep each other company. Sorry to take this attitude, but I hear it over and over again.

frontalman, no prob for being sorry for your attitude, everytime we let our dog out the dog would just come from nowhere and start playing with our dog, this went on for 3 days and we had not fed it, we eventually found out where he was staying, in my garage area under our house, tried shooing it off best we could, but just would not budge, it sleeps there off a night, i told her in doors not to feed it but she eventually did, anyway, this is all by the by now, we still need a home for this poor fellow..

Lucky in turkish is şanslı pronounced : shansler, or Şan (shan) which means luck. Well done in caring for this very lucky dog!!

How negative you are deecyprus4 you just can't help yourself can you every time anyone mentions anything regards KAR.

Just how many animals do you think they can take in up there?? if you have been to the rescue anyone with open eyes can see the amount of animals they already have and just how many staff they also have.

They do their very best every single day of the year they work hard to raise funds for the rescue so maybe all these do gooders who keep knocking them should get off their backside and go to lend a hand.

And I would also like to say what a great couple you are Kelvin to take this dog on well done.

this dog has been lucky, but spare a thought for those who have not been.

something has to be done about the situation here with the animals.

maybe instead of sending them to kar's, any stray should be dropped off at the prime ministers office, lol.

at least that would wake him up!

Lesleyd...you are not going to stop me saying negative things about KAR..so if you don't like what I say best you ignore it...would battersea dogs home turn a dog away, or for that matter any dogs home in the UK...NO..

Fire starter thats a good idea I found another 4 yesterday in that stom all huddled It breaks my heart. Then the little one I recenty adopted his brother tried to get through the gate yesterday in comparission he was so small against my blackjack but the little blighter saw him off. We later found him and fed him and took him pack to the rest of the pack as they belong to my muhtar. we should round them up and show these ministers just what is happening.

deecyprus4 as you well know battersea dogs home and plenty of other dogs home in the UK are run under better conditions most of the Staff at these home's get a weekly wage for what they do, most of the staff at KAR get nothing at all they are doing it out of the kindness of their heart.

Deecyprus,

Get real, check out how many dogs Battersea have at any onetime,I think you will find that its not many more than Kar have, with massive support from the City of London etc.

Please in a reasonabl manner explain just what you want Kar to do,and how it should be funded.

Then when you have done that, please explain what your imput would be

swyflot...Battersea dogs home take in far more dogs than KAR and as I understand it the RSPCA is somehow involved with KAR...please do not tell me to get real,

KAR should not turn any dog away, they are funded mostly by british holiday makers and they beg outside at least one supermarket...KAR should euthanise as I have said many times..

My input would be nothing, I do not support KAR, I do however look after the local dogs in my village, paying out of my own pocket for spaying and neutering and other bills when they are sick..hope that answers your question.

i think in islam it is taught that its wrong to kill an animal.

hence the possible reasons behind vets being reluctant to put these animals to sleep.

with battersea dogs home i don't think all the dogs taken there are strays.

i think the lost get sent there as well, only for a short time until owner finds them.

i do know for a fact that any shar pei going into a rescue, the two uk clubs are informed and someone from their breed club rescue will take the dogs.

i have fostered two dogs before they were found new homes.

maybe kar could start a list of people willing to do this for there breed.

or those who would be willing to foster a dog for a short time whilst they are here for the summer.

it would only be a short term solution but surely ever little can help.

Well Said swyflot

I really don't think that you can possibly compare Kar with the UK they are worlds apart regards animal care. I just think that deecyprus4 has maybe had a run in with one of the Kar staff so tars them all with the same brush.

As for someone telling her to take a dog up into the mountains I really find this hard to believe as when the hunting season had finished they go back up into the mountains to find the dogs that have been dumped there.

Lesleyd, I have not had a run in with anyone at KAR and wouldnt because I do not contact them or ask for help, I know what their standard reply is, however I have spoken with ppl who have worked there and formed my opinions in part from that.

Whether you choose to believe that they suggest taking the dog to the mountains or not is not my concern, I know they do...

Where you got the impression they told me to take a dog to the mountains however is quite wrong, I have never, as I have already stated had any dealings with them, many ppl have put on this forum that they do, so you can call those ppl liars if you wish, that is your choice, I doubt they would be happy though.

What I will add is that those who praise KAR to the hilt are not animal lovers IMO, they do not care what happens to these dogs as long as they arent causing them problems...

One thing that I never do is listen to idle gossip if someone takes a dislike to someone and they happen to tell the people in the community about it I am not one of those that take an instant dislike to that person I always like to find things out first class for myself.

As for those that are not happy about being called liars I am sure that they don't like it just as the people that run Kar don't like being slagged off all the time.

But I am sure whatever it is that someone does you will never please everyone as long as you have a hole in your backside.

Lesleyd...whilst I accept that someone can take a dislike and say spiteful stuff...I have been told this by many ppl who do not know each other, also several posters on here have said the same...do they all have a dislike or a grievance against KAR!!

I suspect that many of the conceived "problems" with KAR are born out of peoples frustration and unreal expectations of the work that they do. Let's be fair, they have neither the finances, government backing or facilities to do what the RSPCA and other charities in the UK do. Come on, be fair, what would the state of play be without the work KAR do?? Has anyone a better alternative?? Most of their workers do not get paid, use their own time etc, have limited resources and are continually knocked for it. Would you do it??

Well deecyprus4

Like I have said before I would like to find out first hand and I think what rowan say's hit the nail on the head just perfectly.

You may get people complaining about Kar or putting posters up but what about the thousands of people that try to lend a helping hand are they all wrong I think not.

The people that are doing all the work up there while the moaners sit on their backsides I think they deserve all the help they can get and should get a well deserved pat on the back which none of them ask for.
