| Anyone having problems with ATM machines the last two days, mainly english cards. I have an HSBC account in Britain from which I have drawn money from ATM`s here. Yesterday, I started in Alsancak Turkbank on to the bank in Karaoglanoglu (near Bird Garage next door to computer shop) On to Turkbank Karaoglanoglu, then on to Jasim Court, next to HSBC Girne, Astro and finally Universal Bank. Got different messages from all of them.
Today the same. Phoned my bank in UK and was told there is no problem whatever with the account and as far as they are concerned I could withdraw cash no problem. Tried the card in the Supermarket just to prove a point and it worked!!!! |

| i think a problem with the fibre optic online cable ,somebody cut through it
may have caused problem ? |

| ATM at HSBC worked fine at lunch time today |

| The machines are working ok, but they dont seem to recognise my HSBC british account card. "Not responding" and "Card not recognised" are just a couple of messages coming up when I use it. As I said I checked with HSBC UK and they could see no reason why I could not withdraw cash. Thanks anyway for your comments Kavenkoy and Fourplusone. I`ll just have to go with your thoughts Kavenkoy and hope for the best. |

i sometimes get this with my bank of scotland card. usually in either the south or the uk would you believe. i have also called the bank and they can't understand why?
in the south i think some stores have problems processing the lattest chip and pin technology, but in the uk they have no excuse. |
