Wouldn'T it be good if they bought back the National Service in the UK, that includes everyone Immigrants/Foreigners included, then we would see how many would actually stay there if it was Compulsory, lets see how many would be willing to fight for their country if they want to live there so much, I bet a lot Scarper

As far as i know TRNC citizenship is not granted to those born in TRNC from non citizen parents....

so, unless at least one of the parents is of Turkish Cypriot decendant he does not have to do any service.

If at least one of the parents is of Turkish Cypriot descendant (regardless of a citizenship of another country) he is automatically regarded as a TRNC citizen and has to do service

more info here but unfortunately it's in Turkish.

littleNige,

Its not against their human rights to take from the State, If they love the country so whats wrong with fighting for it, or is it just a place to come to take take and take more

This page tells you who is considered a citizen, and which citizens are eligible for military service:

Iceman and Zcacmxi ; Many Thanks for your clarification on this subject ; This issue was important to us as we will all be visiting the TRNC shortly after an absence of 7 years.
