After moving out here in July of last year I still had a few boxes to open, so yesterday I opened one which I thought just had cards in and to my surprise I found all sorts. My 18th and 21st cards, engagement and wedding cards but best of all was the love letters from my husband who ive been with for 30 years, they were sent when we first met at the age of 15. I also had kept letters from other boyfriends aswell. There was 2 diaries from 1974 and 1975 and a letter from a french boy that i had met when I was 11 and he was over in England at the time as an exchange student staying a few doors away. Anyway he sent me a letter 5 years later when I was 16, such a lovely letter, you can imagine the french, I dont think I appreciated it then at such a young age. Well I sat and read the whole lot and boy did I enjoy my life, thought I was reading about someone else ha

Wasn't it Bing Crosby who sang that wonderful song 'Thanks for the memory...'

debdebs - that's a nice little post. I know what you mean about feeling it was like reading about someone else. It's such a shame that memories fade.

The-Wicks, Hi there, your right the memories do fade and when you read or see something that jogs your memory its like someone has switched a light on.

Luckily for me I do remember a lot of my past but when I started reading the diaries it was like ooooooooh yeh I had forgotten about that, but it was great reading. Ive had a few vodkas tonight and feel on top of the world. Happy memories to you all x
