Hello everyone.

My wife and I decided we would like to renew our wedding vows after nearly 30 years of marraige while on holiday. We are already booked at the Pia Bella.

We wondered if any one has local contacts to help organise this.

We would like a simple/traditional blessing; we have heard the Bellapais Abbey grounds are very good.

Our dates are 22 June- 6th July. There will only be the 2 of us and we would be grateful if you could give us some ideas along with contacts..

many thanks.

keith.

Many thank

Hi Keith

Would the Pia Bella help you with contact numbers?

If you had a cafe number from Bellapais Abbey they too may help with a Priest (etc).

We've seen the restaurant on the Abbey grounds decorated out for a reception and it looked very beautiful.

I will let you know if I get any numbers.

Best wishes for your big day.

www.cyprus-weddings.net .

Carol Blackwell Gibbs does weddings in TRNC, as you having a blessing only, not sure about paperwork needed if any. She can certainly arrange the ceremony. I am getting married at Kybele Bellapais in April.

I know she is in Australia at the moment but is answering her emails. Ask her what can be done.

Hi and well done you two. We renewed our vows a couple of years ago. We just went to St Andrews church and it was all arranged from there. Im sure the monastry will have a list of people who can officiate. We didnt need any paperwork only our original marriage certificate. Keith Lloyd aslo conducts such cermonies but Im sorry I dont have his number. Good luck with your plans and if I can help you futher then please do not hesitate to ask. Take care Lilli x

sorry all i really cant see this one !!! read the vows through does it not say " for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, and if that dont work re do them a few years later ! bit daft to go through all that stuff again ! does it not bring a bit of doubt to that relationship if you have to remind each other what you,re doing with each other ! ( he sits back and awaits all the successful marriage guidance councellors to attack ) OUCH but i did apologise at the outset !!!

Hello Snakes.

Seems the name fits. Had a look at your previous posts, nothing very positive to say on any of them. Still it wouldn't be much fun if we were all the same.

I'm sure your wife enjoys your romantic nature.

Just seen your picture in your information, my wife says we look a lot alike. But adds thankfully that’s were the similarity ends

We will speak again later I’m sure

Keith.

Don't listen to Snakes. Our original ceremony was in a grotty registry office and, although I have never regretted getting married, I did regret not having made more of an occassion of it. We renewed our vows on our 25th wedding aniversary, in Vegas. Although a bit tacky, it was also very emotional and one of the most romantic things we have done.

mess 18 - yes but you've had this Marina TC from new, its getting a bit rusty here and there and the seats are a bit saggy, then a friend lets you drive his new Lamborghini, with tight fitting leather seats and a quad cam V12 - handles like a dream and starts first time - suddenly the Marina TC looses it's appeal......

Why would anyone want to renew their marriage vows. My father said always learn from your mistakes and never make the same one twice!

What’s all this about a Marina?

When I took delivery of this model it was top of the range and quite sporty. The body work has been well looked after and all the bits still work. Ideal for a family outing, but can still move a bit when required.

The seats may be a bit more comfortable, but to be honest that’s how I like it especially on a long journey.

The Lamborghini sounds nice ,and I’m sure is great to look at but the maintenance would be very expensive. Have you any idea how much they cost to service?

You don’t say if you have a car of your own? Or do you try and pinch your mates and take that for a spin.

Anyway most men our age who try and handle one usually loose control and crash and burn.

Keith Lloyd is off island until 3rd March. Try to telephone anytime after the 4th. The number you have is correct and your dates are compatable.

Your Marina sounds great - although wouldn't it be fun to take a newer tighter and sportier model out for a spin once in a while ??

nick years ago around brum i worked in promotions and at the motor sshow we had to show off the cars you mention. now what do you think a woman would want in a car if she relates it to a man. You all look at the italian range great leather etc but all high maintenence. forgive me im wrong but you still all want your ladies to be high maintence as we do for ourselves. Girls help me out here what dream car who looks and handles like a hunk would we choose. Please not one with dishwasher etc one we identify with the hunk of our dreams. Boys you are not the only ones. We can also get turned on by a good piece of equipement. My favourite car of all time was my TR6 now who could i relate that to.

The first and last sports car i had was a Frog Eyed Sprite . My Dad bought it for me . Did'nt like Sports cars then and do'nt like them now . My husband drives a Jaguar Sports Car . He loves it , i hate it , maybe it has something to do with the fact that i cant get down low enough to get into it { only joking , well a bit anyway }.

Re message 31

I have organised CarolBlackwell Gibbs (See my posting for contact details)to act for me so its easier as I do not live in TRNC full time yet.

You have to get forms stamped at the TRNC Embassy in London and that applies even if you live in TRNC (as Jean Clark photographer found out having lived on island for over 15 years), they then have to be sent to TRNC so that the date can be organised and the kaymakam (wedding official) can be booked. This cannot be done earlier than 3 months before wedding.
