funny how kidnappers take them to the police station and his wife was there all day also. Kind kidnappers even get you an airline ticket. What reward were they asking. I do however think that this was polictial, timiming was very apt.

Actually I think Gary is something of a survivor. I don't think you have heard (or seen the last of) him just yet. I make no judgement on his past, however, just an observation.
