I have just been notified by my solicitor in Kyrenia, if I wish to pay my PTP transfer, I have to apply to the TRNC Office in London, to get my power of attorney signed and sealed. Has anyone else had to go through this process.

Yes we had similar notification, but fortunately we are going over in a

few weeks so are meeting with solicitors then. The Power of Arrorney evidently is needed to de register the title whilst being transferred.

I thought our original poa covered everything including this but obviously not.

Ours also wanted £1,000 to cover currency variation which we did not

understand as the payments and contract are all in sterling. We are lucky

to be going over at the right time.

I have been told by the Solicitor that you have to have it signed by the TRNC in London. Whether it is true or not I am not really sure.

We had to have a local notary sign our documents and then we sent to London for them to stamp - we got documents back within a week or so. We then had to have them sent (DHL) by courier to NC. It was quite costly all told about £300 but still cheaper than taking time from work and going over specifically. Sadly tho' we've been told same as Tricia that the POA we sent only covers the transfer of title application - any other business requires a new POA..... and so we will have to go over to finalise property and electricity and stuff before we take possession of the house.
