Sounds like a big con.

A property is not considered habitable without a mains sewerage connection or at least a septic tank.

Mains sewage pipes are being laid and connected to all the streets in my Kyrenia neighbourhood in a major project funded by UNOPS and the EU.



The moral of the tale is buy a legal title property in an established community

alongside other native Cypriots and share in the improvements and prosperity of the area. Can you ever imagine the international taxpayer forking out for pipelaying works on an expat villa development built on Greek land?

Who would want a property in central Kyrenia its the pits. proper ugly buildings everywhere. i'd only buy to rent to students or casino workers.

The connection fee to sewage system for individual houses (providing the sewege system is laid in your neighbourhood) is 1500YTL which can be paid to belediye in two installments.

This 1500YTL is only connection fee to the system.

Belediye brings the sewege pipe up to your property border at a depth of 130cm and the cost of building a pipe system from your property to connect to this pipe belongs to you.

When completed the necessary pipework on your property you contact Belediye and they come & inspect,if all OK they connect you after you pay the above sum.
