Has there been any feedback regarding the posting of 50 items from the U.K. to TRNC and whether or not they actually arrived?

Hippo, nice one! No doubt the results are holed-up in the head post office in Lefkosa waiting for someone not to deliver them!

These three boys are in the schoolyard bragging of how great their fathers are. The first one says: "Well, my father runs the fastest. He can fire an arrow, and start to run, I tell you, he gets there before the arrow". The second one says: "Ha! You think that's fast! My father is a hunter. He can shoot his gun and be there before the bullet". The third one listens to the other two and shakes his head. He then says: "You two know nothing about fast. My father is a PostMan. He stops working at 4:30 and he is home by 3:45"!!

At Xmas a friend sent a card to a business address and they arrived within a week. I told my Mum to use same address for my son's birthday card, so she posted 4 weeks ago and they still haven't arrived!!!

I will return to previous comments on this topic and urge everybody to write to their MP's in UK. It is not a waste of time as some say. Please write and if anyone wants to know the names of a couple of MP's I know who are already involved, mail me.

Yes there is a result to BRS in todays CT ONLY ONE FIFTH OF UK POSTED ITEMS ARRIVED AT TRNC DESTINATION. "of 82 letters posted from 16 locations in England, Scotland & Wales...... only 17 arrived." "despite the evidence Post office still insist there is no problem". Article goes on to say "a seperate investigation will also be undertaken in NC to check if mail posted sent to UK will reach destination" So get off your back sides and write to your MP's, there is a problem

Are you sure it isn't 'disappearing' in TRNC? Knowing TRNC attitudes as I do, I would not be at all surprised is someone hoards mail because staff just can't be bothered to do anything with it.

I believe the majority of us know where it is lost!!!!! If UK Post Office proves it is not them then they have an obligation to pass it on but at present both UK and TRNC management say "there is no problem"!!!

Having just retired from Royal Mail I would like to assure you that RM Letters Division does make every effort to deliver all mail to the correct destination and within time spans. Some of the addresses given could be anywhere in the world - so the lesson is please address mail correctly.

All our mail is correctly addressed and so far this year, of 6 items posted only 1 has arrived. After 3 years of this it gets a bit tiresome, somebody, somewhere knows what is happening and despite your comment decanddyl the large majority who are suffering the same would put their shirt on where the problem lies.

OOHHH come on, does nobody have any fight. On another thread washerman asks about people having b****. It seems on this subject there certainly are very few prepared to fight. We all know that mail is going missing and now we have some momentum to try to get the authorities to look into this matter. In fact they already are but it needs more people to press home the argument. So show some balls and fight instead of moaning. I am not going to post details but if anyone wants to know what is happening and what UK MP's are involved e-mail me. You may be surprised at what is happening.

I personally am missing mail over the past 18 months which has been posted from Australia, New zealand, South Africa, Sweden, USA and the UK so I would say the common denominator lies at this end (Turkey or TRNC) Mail from Germany always arrives. Are they afraid of the Germans?!!!

90% of mail posted from UK to us has not arrived. A friend wrote to Mill Hill in London re lost mail, very nice reply signed by a 'greek sounding character', claiming the problem is here in TRNC, think that says it all, or most of it.

Quarmby, You have still to answer the question posed by other people, tell us why UK is so good compared to here and would you like us to have a whip around to get you there asap. You find it very easy to criticise but you seem incapable of answering questions or making any positive contribution under your current name of the several others you use or have used. OH, yes I do say so. Do I not have the right to an opinion like everyone else. Go and take the dogs for a walk

Doesn't the mail get sent to us from UK via Mersin? If so could the problem not be in Mersin? We are all quick to blame UK postal service and the TRNC but no one seems to mention the 'middle man'? Just a thought! I, too, have not received most of my mail for 12 months and it is a little annoying when you read in the Cyprus Today and above that we must ensure all our mail is addressed properly when prior to the last 12 months all our mail was arriving without any problems. Maybe ALL our addresses have changed and no one has told us.

CIH having a whip round for me , oh yes please. CIH Yes you do have a right to your opinions, just like I do as well. CIH I seem to see that you also find it very easy to criticise as well. CIH I have only one name on this Forum. CIH A positive, well sort of positive, the weather march to end of may pretty good, sept to oct ,pretty good. Negatives, The place is disgustingly filthy for the amount of people living here. The standard of driving, well what can you say. Dislike the racism shown to foreigners. Dislike the standard quality of food control. Many of the goods are shoddy etc etc etc. Disgusted at the way many foreigners have been robbed of their money by fly by night builders. people have been left for years without their properties being completed, does this ring a bell CIH? Would you put up with that in the UK? CIH Sorry do not have dogs to take for a walk, cannot quite see the relevence of that remark. CIH one other positive, at least you did not tell me to F O

He can stick more than one sentence together at a time. My comments actually worked. However nothing constructive by way of trying to resolve the post issue. I will start the whip around today to get you off this forum asap.

CIH I do hope your charitable venture for me a 100% successful. Getting back to more serious points, I did write a lengthy article in another post re the postal problems to the TRNC. For your benefit I wil try and explain what I posted. Having lived here for many more years than yourself I have suffered this problem somewhat greater than you. I had a lenghty discussion with a very good friend in the UK who is an authority in the care of Dementia sufferers and one of his pilot schemes was to use satellite tracking devices for the patients. I suggested to him that perhaps what we need is a very small tracking device that could be put in an envelope and it could be tracked. it was put to me that the battery life of the device would be a critical factor and he had not yet found anything so small that would suffice the constant turning on and off remotely. If a device that could fit the bill it would maybe endeavour to give us some idea where the problems exist. to cont.

If like me you only receive Official Letters, and they manage to get through with the same address you give all the family, then there is a problem, once again how do they manage to arrive? smithy

cont. I think your constant ideas that everything must be going wrong in the UK is tunnel vision. Ok write to MPs in the UK but also try and ask the MPs over here about the problem as well. I do not particularly like your stance on many things, but I do not wish to see you removed from this forum but you seem to want to have me removed because I disagree with you, sorry CIH you show signs of immaturity in your comments. Remember you were warned some months back by using very abusive language towards me, need I say more. Have a nice day!

Because so few people are prepared to comment Mr Watson I do not suppose anyone can say if the names involved are Smith, Jones or Gurkan!! Watch for flying boulders!!!!! Because all enquiries, as seen in press last year, to the bosses of UK and TRNC Post Offices come up with a blank and that there is no problem then my focus and that of several people we know, is to start a big enquiry at the starting point ie UK and that investigation is now underway. I believe that if that proves nothing then the UK Post Office must be obliged to move out from there to protect their integrity. OK, maybe not but at least we are trying. So immature quarmby, an intelligent thought process focussing at one issue at a time not tackiling everything at once like a mad dog.

CIH you accuse me of being like a mad dog now a turkey. In another thread you spouted on about people should criticise the topic not the writer, pity you don't do as you said. If you have nothing constructive to say, it's time for you to give it a rest. Closed!
