I am sick of reading "this is your last warning etc.," when on the face of it people have done little or nothing at all to deserve that comment. Threads should not be closed unless they become abusive. Threads are closed for no reason on this BB. Threads can naturally evolve (if allowed to do so) What is going on here? As a member of this BB banned for one month for supporting another and altering my profile to say I was banned, I was banned for a further 3 weeks for that particular crime. I would ask why resort to playground tactics? If I was banned, why couldn't I announce it? You didn't. I did. Simples. It's really not an extra banning offence or is it? Obviously it is! I did contact the mods before you ask. Many many times. Still waiting for Izzet to respond. So why didn't you respond Izzet? 2 mods did kindly respond, but they could not help me. Oh the joys of a revenue making forum eh? Kerching!

Before you get banned K, and this thread is closed I would like to say !!! I remember the old fashioned bobbies. Instead of locking you up for very minor offences. They showed common sense and gave you a quick reprimand. Mods please show mercy as I enjoy K's posts.

| Everyone that joins has agreed to the forum rules. Forum administrators have the final word and this type of complaint shouldn't even be posted here! Insults and personal attacks are not allowed. (IMHO) A little banter and leg pulling does no harm but malicious remarks/comments/postings, intended to cause damage to some one's reputation, do harm. Certain members use this board to bad mouth certain people/companies/businesses because they haven't got, what they perceive to be, "their own way." It is impossible to defend these attacks because to answer any criticism only prolongs the posting and causes further damage to ones reputation. This board is not a vehicle to be used by certain members for ulterior motives - no one member is bigger than this board. Certain members don't just post their personal opinions, they attack anyone that thinks differently. This is a Bulletin Board not a Bullytin Board. Remove this threat and so many more members would post valuable information.

Many threads are closed because * they serve no purpose*, surely that should be decided by the members not the mods, one mans meat is another mans poison! I have noticed that one of the mods, who shall remain nameless, seems to close an awful lot of the threads, perhaps personal feelings could be put on one side unless of course the thread is abusive or offensive. It is often not worth posting anymore as it will either be closed or hijacked by some loony, some of the more recent posts don't even make sense.

Washerman, I do think you have missed the point, or maybe I did not make myself clear as I should have done. Forum Admin provide sound advice on what to do if you have a complaint. Contact them or Izzet. I did that. I followed their advice. Two Moderators responded out of the 8 contacted, and of the 2 that did, they could not help me and referred me to Izzet. I am still waiting for a response from Izzet to the numerous emails sent to him, and it would appear I am not alone. I am not posting this to cause trouble BTW. I am posting this to highlight the fact that I have followed (to the letter) the advice provided by the Moderators and it has got me no-where at all. "Forum administrators have the final word and this type of complaint shouldn't even be posted here!" In theory complaints should be dealt with as per the sound advice provided by Forum Admin, however in practice they are not. I just want to know why not?

I can (sometimes) understand why threads are "closed". I cannot however understand why some are completely deleted!!!!

Message 6 - "This board is not a vehicle to be used by certain members for ulterior motives - no one member is bigger than this board. Certain members don't just post their personal opinions, they attack anyone that thinks differently. This is a Bulletin Board not a Bullytin Board." But Paul, that is exactly what the board is! The usual suspects are tolerated all the time, and when, rarely, one of them is banned, their reappearance under another name appears to be deemed acceptable by the board 'czars'.

| Kaiserphil... Yes, I agree with you but when a banned member returns with another name, they can't just carry on where they left off because it's too obvious. They have to behave for a while and if and when they revert back to their old tactics, they will be banned again and eventually they get fed up. It all depends on your mindset when you join the board and your reasons for joining the board. I have been here for six years and seen several boards go by the way side. Every board has its "extremists" and "village idiots" and they are always tolerated as long as they put forward their opinions without contravening any of the board rules. Some posts are "jolly good entertainment," to read - I say "enjoy the banter, don't get personal, don't be vindictive, help people where you can and if possible, be funny and mildly sarcastic, but no insults or personal attacks." | w26kay..... I imagine that being a board administrator is a royal pain in the bum and I for one wouldn't like to be one. Mainly because sometimes, some situations are just impossible to handle. Maybe, some questions are just too hard to answer - damned if you do and damned if you don't. Washerman |

Paul, "Some posts are "jolly good entertainment," to read - I say "enjoy the banter, don't get personal, don't be vindictive, help people where you can and if possible, be funny and mildly sarcastic, but no insults or personal attacks." Exactly, that is what I think. How's the missus?

denizkisi..... As a publisher, the board owner is, to a certain degree, responsible for the content on the board. I imagine that sometimes, it is just easier to delete a thread than take a chance AND some topics/comments/posts are just deleteworthy Washerman

It's right in what Kay say's though, we are encouraged to contact Izzet should we have a problem, two occasions I have had to contact Izzet, one was for a ban, which turned out to be a misunderstanding, I didn't get a reply, and so had to contact a Moderator who sorted it out very quickly (banned for an hour!) The second was after I had, had several insults from a particular poster, Izzet again did not reply, and as it happens some posters had also complained to the Moderators, who again quickly sorted it out. So what would be the point in contacting Izzet?

Izzet contacted me a while ago after I had made a remark about people being banned for silly little things,I was commenting on the fact that many regular members no longer posted on the board. He wanted to know which particular bans I was referring to, no problem with that but I found it quite strange that the email was copied to one of the moderators, I can only presume that the moderator in question had been in touch with Izzet regarding my post, since then I have been extra careful what I post.

Spider , is it me or you that is confused ? i only pointed it out to you that the thread had been started a few weeks ago , because people had posted replies and i thought you would be interested in them . Only Forum admin can close threads , so of course your thread has'nt been closed and that is why it is still there . when you asked me if i was closing your thread , i said no , why would i ?. And lastly . Everybody reads the threads , again why would you think i was looking , and what am i supposed to be looking for ? Relax , Simbas

Simba's I think your comments should have been sent privately. Don't follow AJ's example of berating members. Not your job in my opinion..

Hi Stewy , I'm sorry if you feel i berated a member , it was certainly not my intention i was just simply responding to a post , i tried to be helpful by pointing out a thread had already started , as there were quite a few replies . Regards , Simbas

Paranoia or what? What is the percentage of posts being closed? Very few as far as I can see. Same old people complaining all the time about same old subject. Ever thought that some may be closed because the senders are rude and get personal? On the whole I prefer to leave these for all to see as it often says more about the sender than the receivers. With the personalities involved banning and deleting often just fuels their egos.

Bradus The interesting thing is the amount of e-mails I get complaining about post's on the board and I guess you have the same situation. I have to look at the referenced postings and make a decision on what to do. This involves trying to aquaint myself with both sides of the 'story' and that involves sending e-mails to the alleged perpetrators before making a decision. Some members do not have the decency to reply to my e-mails so as far as I am concerned If it can not be discussed off board then they will have to suffer the consequences. AJ
