Don't think I' ve spelt it right but have just found a new Saturday market here. Nice log fire, indoor venue out of the cold. Vast array of goodies on sale, and they tell me they are going to grow it so there will be many many more stalls outside in the summer.

Check it out, well worth a visit.

Heh heh - it's Chateau "Lambousa"

Very glad you liked the venue. Ian, David and I are hopeful that the market will grow as we have extensive and rather nice indoor and outdoor sites and massive, paved parking (no mud on those rainy days).

Current stallholders include: homebaked pastries and pies, homemade jams, marmalades, preserves and brandies, cakes with bespoke decoration, cds, dvds and book stalls, a variety of clothing and jewellery stalls, antiques, paintings, sculptures and other arts and crafts.

Other stallholders are most welcome and should contact Ian on 0542 885 0230 for a pitch.

I'm glad you asked that question tanscat because I was going to do the same thing. Sounds a great market. Will hopefully be able to take a look when we are next over.

It's at the Chateau Lambousa in Lapta every saturday from 10:00 a. until about 14:30 p.m. or ater depending on custom.

To get there:

As if coming from Kyrenia on the main coast road turn left after the stand of trees after LA Hotel and the first left thereafter.

I have also checked out this market - it has great potential to grow as fast click said - especially in the summer. We need the local tour operators to stop with their tour groups. Gordon, why not check out companies like Cyprus Paradise and Green Island to include it on their Guzelyurt trips - Saturdays a double header with Guzelyurt and "the Chateau" markets on the itinerary.

Look forward to having a table in the summer when I get out again!

Hi Gordon

I will ring Ian in the next couple of days to book a stall, as my grandchildren have a lot of things to get rid of toys/bikes etc before they move abroad to Thailand, so lets hope you all come along and have a look, Never been to the Market but have heard great things about it

Hi Gordon

Remember staying at Celebrity many years ago. Is the Chateau Lambousa still open as a hotel. Remember when it first opened it was the best in Kyrenia.
