Does anybody know of any cure for tinitus, or is it simply something one must just deal with??

wow, that is really informative! I went to a doctor and he concluded that i do not have an infection nor are there and foreign objects in there, however, he did not tell me it could have something to do with sugar levels! So thank you for this link...i will definately be going back to my 'doctor' to talk about this other possibility!

They say not to be alone.to quiet either,as this enables the ringing to be on its own, background noise helps......put t.v.on......tiss not nice.

D.D. get your doctor to refer you to an ENT Hospital for a hearing test etc. I suffer intermittently with it. They may be able to find a cause for it.

Good luck.

Hi Daisy Dukes

I'm profundly deaf, suffered from tinnitus very badly. No cure but my doc suggested a couple of pints of help beer might help. It does but he won't give me a scrip for it!

Had a cochlear implant and it has certainly helped my hearing and the tinnitus is vrtually a thing of the past.

Try your GP in the Uk as nothing like it over here.

DD, my husband suffered from Tinitus when we arrived and for no particular reason ie he didn't previously work with loud machinery etc however he was also told that it could be stress related. After we had been here for 2 years it disappeared so there is hope.

Good luck

I have heard that both Yoga and Acupuncture can relieve some of the problems. It might be worth a try. Good Luck.

Good luck Daisy, if it's not too personal let us know how you got on, it would appear there are a few members with the same problem.

So, i went to the doctors armed with everything that was suggested here with the links you all sent, and he told me there could be lots of reasons as to why i have it, but unfortunately the doctor told me that there is no known cure!! There are things that can be done to alleviate it, but basically one must just suffer!!!

The doctor seems to think that head trauma is a main factor (even though it happened 15 months ago!) and slightly low blood pressure.

Looks like i'l be going to bed with the tv or radio on from now on!!
