why dont my parsnips go crunchy when i roast them...they come out soft instead

dry pan,sprinkl with a little olive oil and when nr,ready top with Parmisan..

are they frozen. if not par boil shake like you do with potatoes then place in hot oil. i always use seaame seeds or honey on top and the are crisp every time. hope this helps. where do you get them from here. we search the island and get ours from holland. guido says if they go soggy you are using too much oil

roast them in baking tray with a little olive oil, keep shaking , theylle be crunchy on the outside//

season with salt and pepper,drizzle with honey,turn your oven up high to start with, once they are crispy on the outside turn down slightly,then serve.

Put them in with your roast potatoes, in duck or goose fat. Turn oven up high after you've taken your meat out to rest.

I can bring some seeds out with me in June if anybody wants to grow them - guaranteed fresh then!

i have seen them inorphanides in the south.

they weren't the same as the ones we get in the uk.

they looked the same but the flavour was rubbish.

apparantly illeli supermarket in alsancak has parsnips , sweet potatoe and brussel sprouts on a regular basis FRESH

Best to roast them in sunflower oil,.. cooks at a higher temp than olive oil without burning and do not use extra virgin olive oil.



As mentioned, duck or goose fat are excellent, but not too much!



Roll them in the fat in a seperate pan before putting into non-stick baking tray, same with your roasties. Season/honey for last 10 mins or so.



Works for me.

hi tonni i think you are right. i brough seeds for sweed and parsnips and gave them the kiss of death. We get savoy cabbage sweed and parsnips from south side. They come from Holland and are delicious.
