Might be an idea to take your anger management issues elsewhere, old boy ;) Other people can debate in a civilised manner.

msg 1 and macha at his waspish best

a curious parallel is akin's near-namesake arkan:

arkan was a serbian warlord who killed a lot of bosnian muslims

so arkan was a bad bad guy and was duly murdered years later,

but to the serbs of yugoslavia desperately trying to defend themselves

against a foreign invasion by nato armies, arkan was a regular guy

vlad the impaler, known as dracul, was also a great hero to his people

as were richard the lionheart, stalin and grivas...

which goes to show that by his "pick 'n mix" selection

of a war crime "so shall thy know him"

although in the case of the gentleman referred to by macha,

the guy hasn't yet been found guilty of anything at the moment

'scuse me I'll have to stop, my sides are akin'

"the alleycat"

Yes, two threads started simultaneously but this individual demonstrates perfectly who is in control in north Cyprus - and how murder witnessed by the world is no problem to the barbarians.

And we can guess who started them.

Juliet, suzzane, how comes you came back on this forum ??? I viewed you bellyaching on another forum about how you did nothing wrong !!!!!! and was picked on. You and your mate. turd, (macha) Max, P.P. eric must have something in common with leatherback turtles.

your time is running out again.

there is a certain desperation creeping into macha and juliet's postings

I just read that turkey will run out of chapters to open with the eu in 2010,

and it is effectively frozen out by the roc and france already

its refusal to open its ports to roc shipping may well get it barred anyway

love 'em or loathe 'em the anatolian families are settled permanently

so turkey couldn't leave even if it wanted to

although the expats are vulnerable to scare stories, both real and exaggerated

so the most forlorn of hopes to use the eu talks lever to pressure turkey

over cyprus, will finally float away like the will 'o the wisp it always was

with not the slimmest of chances to end the partion of cyprus,

indeed the island diverges before our eyes more with each passing month

Dear Andre re msg 14

. if there is no political settlement - there will be a legal one. ( ECHR?)

There has been effective partition for 35 yrs and the property issue / pricing / nervousness of the market - not helped by a recession reflects that.

When / if folk feel more confident about "TRNC" ( post the Annan YES vote) the prices went up..

Dear Rose,

I do listen to people’s point of view and have given mine in the past. I believe myself to be fair minded and up for a laugh. These two misguided persons I have mentioned have no real interest in debating, just winding up people and the sad one, now known as "Max" takes great pleasure in being nasty to individuals with one sided and bigoted views and also rude remarks about people. The other one just seems to go along with him not engaging her brain, a distorted slant on what has really gone on and what will go on.

Both were banned from this forum for good reasons, so why are they back???. When they were banned , the forum was a much better place and both sides of debate were listened too and no probs.

I do not agree with a lot of what mmmmm puts on, but he is in the main courteous/informative/witty and listens.

have a nice day Rose.

mark message 15,

I have to disagree with you mark again,

there has not been an "effective" partition for 35 years

there has been an actual partition of cyprus for 35 years

you are right on the button with comments abouthe property market,

but I would not place any reliance on the ECHR

to subtitute some variety of "legal settlement" (whatever that means!)

for a right and proper compromise agreement

between the negociating parties as has happened in ireland

This is the comment I sent to the paper:

Very poor reporting. The paper reports that Akin said "I will shoot again" thus implying that he shot Solomos, but at the end of the article he is reported as saying that "he is being unjustly accused". So this is nothing but sensational reporting with no accuracy. However the comments that followed showed how gullible some of your readers are!!!

Dear Andre re msg 20

*Effectively* as it is in "not official", but de facto.. I think my choice was more "accurate " .. semantics again ?!

Sorry to harp back to Annan, but the only recourse re property would have been the new "property commission"

Whilst there is no solution at a internationally recognised level - as now - TR is still liable to claims for loss of use.

The originator of this biased thread....has jumped the gun, if I may say. Not unusual for him to go off half cocked!

msg 22

semantics? don't think so,

cyprus has been partitioned for a generation and a half

oh but there is a solution to the cyprus problem: carry on the status quo

property applicants from one side will continue to "win" court actions

against turkey and they may even collect some cash in certain cases

although they will not recover any property they claim to have once owned

the north cyprus property and tourism sectors may be further damaged

by adverse findings agaist uk and other european owners in the north

although this cannot recover any significant lands from the trnc

reports about crime north of the green line

whether true, untrue, partly true

or politically-motivated by "pick 'n mix" morals

will upset many fair-minded individuals

although will not get north cyprus back for the:

"we control the horizontal we control the vertical we control the airspace"

republic of (south) cyprus

statiing the obvious, moi?

elko msg 21,

So how do you feel as a TC to have this man standing for office? Do you want him to get in? Do you think he should answer the murder warrant? Why did Turkey let him go after catching him with a suitcase of smuggled mobile phones? Does this make the TRNC look good to the outside world?

So many awkward questions, eh?

Dea Andre re msg

You have appeared to have meandered off somewhere..

1/ The ECHR victories are pyrrhic - the cash won was was loss of use ... and the ECHR state the properties are STILL legally owned by the plantiffs .. so WHAT's with the "once owned" ? !

2/ "the no soln, solution" .."status quo" .. TR can't afford it ...this economic crisis will change a lot of peoples / govt attitudes.
