the infor on hand is if I own a car and provided it's under 5 yrs I can ship it over to north cyprus provided i have a temporary residence stamp

or if i own a car 25yrs plus that the above applies,however if I were to buy a second hand car say 2yrs old,is that permissable as above or i need to own the car from new to import thanks for any infor due

well if the car is under 3yrs old when you buy it you should be able to import it but i would not be sure as the law changes like the weather your beat bet is to email olaytrans@olaytrans.com they are by far the most knolagable on imports

You will be liable to all the taxes some were in excess of 60% of the value of the vehicle on any vehicle you import unless a classic car.



So work out what you pay plus a further 60% in import duties and then decide if you could buy cheaper locally. Personally I think you are better off buying local.

thanks for the infor,getting hire purchase was one reason for buying in the \uk

but i now know i don't have to buy a brand new car and something here over 3 yrs old is in cyprus after 60% tax is like a new car here in the uk thanks
