Its really dark over Çatalkoy, and just beginning to thunder. I am at work, but I know where my dog is, he is sitting on a blanket inside the shower cubicle shaking!!!! Thats his "spot" during thunder storms.

My dog (Giant schnauzer) is a real baby during storms, I think he likes the bathroom as it has very small windows. I put a blanket down for him but he still shivers and shakes like a big black jelly.

Deniskizi, how wonderful, my dearly loved and departed little mini schnauzer Daisy also hated storms and rain and would shake her little socks off lol... I love Schnauzers, all of them.

I've just driven out to Ercan and back. It was completely dry out there at Noon and started to rain shortly after. Coming back though, it was bucketing down the whole way, and the main roundabout in Girne was under several inches of water

Also yesterday when flying in to Ercan, you could see loads of standing water out that way and everything is wonderfully green!

Great to see!

Will all the rain mean an end to the yearly 'water shortage' battles I wonder???

There has been a great deal of rain - am I right in assuming that although the TRNC reservoirs may not be getting as full as we would like to see (although must certainly be up from last year based on South Cyprus reservoir reports), the natural aquifers and water table must be being topped up (a lot of TRNC summer water supplies come from wells etc).

Drove from Karsiyaka to Girne this morning and had to pull over 3 times due to the hailstones that fell with the rain.

Never seen anything like it here......they were huge...the hailstones that is!

Its great that Cyprus is getting lots of rain but better means of catching the stuff need to be put into place as most of it falls into the sea,

Paul.

all the smaller dams in paphos & the mountain areas are now full its the bigger dams that need more rain.

A man was struck & killed by lighting in a village just after Nicosia today.
