Hulk

It is to personal taste what sport people follow, I for one do not want converting, thankyou.

I have tolerated you calling it rugby yaaawnion for quite a few threads Hulk, but I am afraid it is getting a little tiresome now, so I would apreciate if you called it by its correct name. I respect that you follow (and appear passionate about)the lesser known rugby league game, and that it can be a pain in the a**e that rugby union is so widely and publically known, thats how it is.

Why would I move anywhere when I'm joining you lovely people in North Cyprus?

Am I doing the right thing I ask myself when I am not a sport maniac? What will I do without unwanted daily doses of it all?

James B, not wishing to hijack a rugby thread and go off on a tangent about Iraq, these rugby chaps are a rough lot.............but, yes things are improving here over the last 6 months or so for the average Iraqi in my view. I wouldn't put it as one of your must see places though just yet

Paul, Happy New Year mate, Duster lives in Leeds, and from my experience about Leeds people they'll support any sport or team that is winning at the time!

Paul what do youn think of the rule changes for this year, they are always tinkering!

In the new campaign, a team that kicks downfield at a 20-metre restart, making it bounce into touch, will have the head and feed at the resulting scrum.

Also you are now allowed to contest for the ball when a high kick comes over the top behind your tryline, we conceded a penalty try against leeds this year, It needed sorting out this one, it was a grey area. Not sure about the other one though, its the same in the NRL, the wingers and fullbacks are going to be on there toes to save losing ground.

Just a bit of friendly banter from Paul, Steve. It would be a quiet forum if we didn't go over old ground every so often.

Happy new year to you as well mate,

I think the twenty metre re-start could work, its all about making the game faster(if thats posible) as long as all the refs and linos are consistent with the rule changes then i cannot see a problem with that one.

I remember that penalty try that you conceeded against your friends from up the road.Like you say it was a grey area last season hopefuly the rule change will iron the problems out.still think that something should be done about players being flattened after they have hoisted a bomb or kicked for touch though, and dont agree with players being put on report for high tackles as this means that they stay on the field.

soon be feb 2nd.

Paul,

We are yellow bellies ourselves, so 2 yellow bellies thrashing around in the mud together could be interesting.

Evening Paul,

We got wakefield away first proper game. Were playing wigan this weekend in a testimonial for paul deacon. We had a few warm ups but not full strength yet. I really think we will do well this year, and we have signed 3 top youngsters this week, I think there planning ahead for 2011 season when each sl squad has to have 8 home grown players (good sign for GB),

How do you think you will do year?

ee bah gum pal hows it anging,

The youngsters that you have signed look really good James and good on ya for that always got to look to the future just hope no one steals them in a couple of years. Now we are back in the top flight we can also start to sign some goodprospects were as before they always went to the scum who could offer them full time contracts.

It used to infuriate me when east hull lads who wanted to play for rovers signed for the enemy even though deep down they were rovers fans, people like paul cooke, richard horne, craig hall to name but a few.But money talks and at the time they signed rovers couldnt offer them full time contracts.

Going to sunny Oldham on Sunday to see rovers in a friendly cant wait to see all the new signings fingers crossed for no injuries.Take it easy,

Paul.

p.s top eight would be nice for only our second season, top six would be hard on material it is the grown ups thread and after the watershead.
