Does anyone know a shop that has a good selection of towels, and we are also looking for a log basket - any ideas please? We are in Girne region, thanks.

There is a very good stall on the Wednesday market. If you walk in he and his wife are the very last line of stalls and they are first class, all sizes and colours. As for a log basket I would think you can buy a very large laundry basket in wicker and use that. Hope this is of some help.

There was a wicker shop at Edremit, still there when I left TRNC last year.

That's the same one Kav's talking about. You can also buy baskets at the covered market in Lefkosa and they are much cheaper than the Edremit shop.

It's next to the big Mosque. If you walk from the Buyuk Han to the Mosque the market is just a bit further on on the right. It's on Monday to Saturday as far as I know but not sure what times. It has fruit and veg, meat, some souvenir type shops, Turkish Delight, baskets, some clothes and a few other bit and pieces.
