Has anybody out there had the misfortune of buying a property off plan through NCP (North Cyprus Properties) and are now struggling to get their money back as NCP appear to be no longer trading?

My wife and I purchased an off plan villa which was due for completion in November 2006, but it still hasnt been completed

We were promised a complete refund from the company director but this was never forthcoming.

We are now pursuing a refund through our solicitor but this is looking like a fruitless exercise

Is anybody else in the same situation through NCP. If so what are you doing to remedy the situation?

I would be grateful if anybody else has some advice

We are sure that this company no longer exists and they re-invented themselves as someone else

Can anyone else remember this happening and it being reported in earlier postings ?

NCP merged with Lider Construction (Mainland Turkish company) and formed new company called 'Mainland' or Anayurt (Turkish). Details of this are on the forum. Go to Serenity Appartments on 'Top 44 Properties' page and check the thread on the same topic. Don't know whether this is of help.

Good luck - sad to hear about your loss.

Thanks for your replies. I think that NCP have re-emerged as NCP Unity

http://www.north-cyprus-properties.com

This website looks awfully like their original website, but obviously no mention of directors etc

I have tries contacting mainland but have had no replies to emails or telephone calls so far

My solicitor has been away for a couple of weeks so I will follow up with him tomorrow

Hi there

I'm new to the forum so bare with me a bit. I am a journalist for Cyprus today and looking for anyone who can email over information about problems they may have had with building firms in North Cyprus, particularly NCP.

If you have any positive stories to tell as well those would be great to hear.

Please email any info to cyprustoday@yahoo.com FAO DAN

Thanks

Dan
